Lowboys, log trailers, vans
Freight, machinery, feed and timber out of Eden
Only 9 of Eden’s 149 active operators haul across New York’s borders under interstate authority, FMCSA’s carrier census shows; 140 stay intrastate. If your truck has stayed inside New York, its registration and title are the two papers we look at first, so find both before you call.
General freight leads the cargo declared to FMCSA here, at 55 carriers, with machinery and large objects at 47, farm supplies at 32 and logs, poles, beams and lumber at 24. A tractor set up for a lowboy or a log trailer is something we collect from Eden; tell us which trailer it pulled so we know how the fifth wheel or the bunks are set up.
Of those 149 Eden operators, 127 are private fleets hauling their own goods, according to the same FMCSA census. If the truck belongs to a farm or a contractor rather than a for-hire outfit, the name on the title is the name that signs, so check that it matches the business or the person selling.
Yards of a dozen trucks
Eden’s twelve- and twenty-six-truck yards
At the top of Eden’s list in FMCSA’s census sits a 26-tractor operation with 15 drivers, followed by two outfits of 12 power units each, one with 8 drivers and one with 7. Selling one tractor out of a small yard like that is routine for us; send the VIN of each unit you want gone and we treat each one on its own.
Eden carriers told FMCSA that 255 of their drivers stay inside a 100-mile radius, against 95 who range past it. A truck that works close to home is usually parked close to home too, so give us the yard address and a time someone can open the gate.
A typical Eden truck logs 11,500 miles a year, the median across the 27 local carriers that filed mileage with FMCSA. Have the odometer reading ready with the photos; it is one of the first things we ask.
Eden trucks at the scale
Eden tractors at the roadside: a 2014 median
FMCSA roadside inspection records from August 2024 to August 2026 caught 56 trucks from Eden carriers, and their median model year was 2014. Put the model year, make and engine on your first message; it tells us which parts of the truck to photograph.
In those same inspection records, 57 percent of the Eden trucks stopped were ten or more model years old. Whatever the year on your title, send service records from the shop that kept it; they show us the truck’s history in a way photos alone cannot.
Pit, yards and tank terminals around Eden
Gravel, rail yards and terminals north toward Buffalo
Down toward Collins, 10.4 miles south by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, there is a sand and gravel operation feeding dump work out of Eden. A dump truck or tri-axle that has hauled from that pit can be picked up wherever it sits; tell us if it is on site or back at your own lot.
North of town, the North American Rail Network shows the BLASDELL yard 11.2 miles away and the SENECA yard at 11.7 miles, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Buffalo intermodal ramp 11.8 miles out. If your day cab has been shuttling containers between those yards, we collect it in Eden or at the yard where it is parked.
Liquid loads have their own stops up that road: the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records the RSI Logistics liquid bulk terminal 12.5 miles north and Transflo CSXT at 16.9 miles, and the Energy Information Administration lists the BUFFALO petroleum product terminal 15.2 miles away. Tankers and the tractors that pull them are on our list, so say which trailer goes with the sale.
Eden’s payrolls and farms
Jobs, builders and dairy farms
Of 1,048 jobs counted in Eden for 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, 80 were in transportation and warehousing and 55 in construction. County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau puts 35 construction establishments in the area; a contractor’s dump truck or flatbed is the kind of unit we collect from a job site or a shop yard.
Erie County had 918 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, corn and soybeans at the top. A milk tanker, a grain truck or a farm straight truck can be sold from the farm itself, so give us the farm address and say whether the lane takes a tow rig.
The Evans DMV office and the paused NY rules
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles office for this area is EVANS, at 6853 Erie Rd in Derby, 5.3 miles from Eden. If the title is lost or the lien release never came, that office is where a replacement is requested, and the title must be in hand before we collect.
For an Eden owner wondering about emissions rules, New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation shows enforcement paused on the Advanced Clean Trucks and Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus regulations alike. Neither rule stands in the way of selling a diesel truck registered in Eden; bring the registration and title and we handle the rest.
