North-east shore
Twin shore terminals a short hop north-east of the village
Glennwood Landing, a petroleum product terminal on the Energy Information Administration’s list, lies 2.7 miles north-east of Munsey Park. Right beside it, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records Global Companies as a liquid bulk terminal 2.8 miles out in the same direction. Tankers and the tractors that pull them are trucks we buy, so if yours has been loading at those racks, tell us so when you first get in touch.
A tank truck that has worked a fuel rack tends to carry its own paper trail: hazmat endorsement copies, tank test stickers, rack access cards. Gather whatever of that you still hold, along with the registration, and photograph the tank shell, the valves and the cab. If the rig is still parked near the shore terminals, give us that address rather than your home one.
Two more terminals nine miles west
Heading west, the Energy Information Administration lists The Energy Consrv Group as a petroleum product terminal 8.9 miles from the village, while the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places The Energy Conservation Group’s liquid bulk terminal at 9 miles. A truck that splits its week between the north-east racks and these western ones could be sitting at either end when you decide to sell.
Tell us which side of the run the truck is on today and who can hand over the keys there. We collect from the yard where it is parked, so a tractor left near the western terminals does not need to come back to Munsey Park first.
Jamaica Yard and the rail line to the south-west
According to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Jamaica Yard sits 9.4 miles south-west of Munsey Park, with a second Jamaica rail yard at 10 miles. Day cabs and box trucks that shuttle freight to and from rail yards belong on the list of what we take.
For a truck that has worked around Jamaica, send us the VIN, the odometer reading and a clear photo of the plate. Those three let us confirm the truck before we ask anything else, and the yard address tells us where the collection will happen.
Aggregate pit, east
Gravel trucks from Broad Hollow Estates
Broad Hollow Estates Inc, a sand and gravel operation in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records, is 13.7 miles east of the village. Dump trucks and tri-axles that haul aggregate out of pits like that are trucks we buy, and so are the tractors that pull end-dump trailers.
If your dump truck is parked at the pit or a contractor’s lot out east, say who controls the gate. A scale ticket book or a body plate photo helps us identify the body and the hoist alongside the chassis.
Contractor trucks on Munsey Park’s own payrolls
Of the 622 jobs located in Munsey Park in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 52 in construction, a share of 8.4 percent. Contractors at that scale tend to run pickups with dump bodies, small flatbeds and the odd straight truck, and every one of those is a truck we will look at.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 29 farms across Nassau County, with equine operations and cut flowers leading the list. Horse trailers’ tow rigs and the box trucks that carry flowers to market are commercial vehicles too, and the same steps apply: registration, title and a few photos.
Six point three miles from Munsey Park, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles keeps its Garden City office at 400 Oak St, Garden City, and the DMV handles replacement title certificates there and on its title replacement page. If the title for your truck has gone missing, start that replacement before we schedule the pickup.
Have the registration and a photo ID with you when you visit the Garden City office. Once the replacement certificate is in your hands, send us a photo of the front and back so the name on it can be matched to yours.
Clean truck rules in New York right now
On the Department of Environmental Conservation’s heavy-duty vehicle pages, the Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation for New York shows its enforcement as paused.
Neither rule changes what you need to sell a truck from Munsey Park today: the title, the registration and the keys. Check the department’s pages if you want the current wording before you sell.
