Fuel racks a mile east on the Hudson
The Energy Information Administration lists CARGO NEWBURGH, a petroleum product terminal, about 1 mile east of New Windsor, and SOUTH NEWBURGH about 1.2 miles to the north-east. If your tractor loads at either rack, give us the yard address and a gate contact and we will collect it there.
Two liquid bulk terminals sit on the same stretch of shoreline according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics: Global at 1 mile east and Warex Terminals Corporation at 1.2 miles north-east. If your tanker or tank tractor pulled loads out of these sites, list the trailer it ran with and send photos of the cab, frame, fifth wheel and tank so we know the full unit before we arrange the pickup.
Stewart, the quarries and the gravel pits
Stewart IAP lies about 3.5 miles north-west of New Windsor and Stewart Annex about 3.6 miles west, both listed as military installations by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your truck is kept near either one, tell us whether a pass or escort is needed to reach it, so the collection is planned around the access rules rather than discovered at the gate.
Aggregate work runs in two directions from here: the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists CALLAHAN & NANNINI SHALE INC, a crushed-stone quarry, 6.9 miles south-west, and CENTURY AGGREGATES FISHKILL MINE, a sand and gravel operation, 7.1 miles east across the river. Dump trucks and tri-axles that haul from those pits can be sold from the quarry lot itself; send the VIN, the body type and a photo of the bed.
Box vans, packers and lowboys in New Windsor
Of the 283 New Windsor operators active in FMCSA’s carrier census, general freight is the cargo on 128. Box trucks, day cabs and straight trucks are the usual equipment for that work, and any of them can go with a title, registration and a set of clear photos.
Machinery and large objects appear on 36 carrier registrations in the same federal census, refuse on 32 and motor vehicles on 27. Rolloffs, packers, lowboys and car haulers all fit what we purchase, so tell us the body or trailer type up front along with the truck.
Of those 283 operators, 199 are intrastate and 84 cross state lines, and 170 run as private fleets carrying their own goods, per FMCSA’s registry. A private-fleet truck usually has its paperwork with the business that owns it, so have the person who signs for the company ready with the title.
Model years, miles and new operators
Roadside checks of 190 New Windsor trucks from September 2024 to August 2026 put the median build at model year 2020, FMCSA roadside inspection records show, and 28.95 percent were ten or more years old. Whatever year yours is, the VIN tells us the build; send a recent inspection report along with the photos.
Among 76 local carriers that report mileage to FMCSA, the median comes to 15,554 miles a truck each year. FMCSA’s carrier census also shows 1,014 drivers working within 100 miles and 199 beyond. If your truck is out on a route, tell us where it parks between runs and we will meet it there.
The FMCSA census records 21 new carriers registering in 2025 and 17 in 2024, and the three biggest local fleets list 207, 153 and 24 power units. A fleet retiring several units at once can send one list of VINs and yard locations, and we plan the pickups from that.
Shop floors, job sites and Orange County milk
In 2023, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, New Windsor had 2,051 jobs: factories accounted for 283, building trades 169, wholesalers 130 and transportation and warehousing 54. Plants and distributors keep delivery trucks and straight trucks, and those can be sold straight from the loading dock.
Builders account for 76 establishments in and around New Windsor, according to the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. Contractors with a dump truck, flatbed or stake body sitting between jobs can send us the title and photos of the truck where it is parked on the site.
Orange County has 613 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, led by milk, equine and potted flowering plants. Milk haulers, horse transport rigs and nursery delivery trucks from those farms are all equipment we collect from the farm itself.
Title office and emission rules
For a missing title, the nearest New York State Department of Motor Vehicles counter is the NEWBURGH office at 128 Broadway, roughly 2.3 miles from New Windsor. If the title is lost or the lienholder has not released it, that office handles the replacement, so start it before the sale and keep the receipt.
Enforcement of New York’s Advanced Clean Trucks rule and its Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus rule is paused, as the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation lists them. Neither rule stands in the way of selling a diesel truck here, and the registration you already hold is the one we need to see.

Will you load it at the quarry yard where it sits?CALLAHAN & NANNINI SHALE INC sits 6.9 miles south-west according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, and a quarry yard is fine for collection. Send photos of the truck and bed, plus the name of someone on site.
