If your truck belongs to a business like that, the person signing the sale should be whoever is named on the title, so check whether it is you or the company before you contact us.
A truck that has stayed inside New York carries New York registration and paperwork, and having the current registration card in the cab saves a round of questions when we come to look at it.
Twelve carriers in town list general freight on FMCSA’s carrier census, six list beverages, and four each list refrigerated food and meat. Box trucks, reefers and beverage bodies all fit what we purchase; tell us the body type and its make along with the chassis, and send a photo of any reefer unit’s data plate.
Fleet size and model years around Oneida County
The three biggest fleets in town run 31, 31 and 27 power units, according to FMCSA’s carrier census, with 25, 23 and 9 drivers. If you are selling several trucks from a fleet that size, list each one by VIN in a single message and we can plan one visit for all of them.
Roadside inspection records from FMCSA covered 37 trucks from here between September 2024 and August 2026; their median model year was 2020, and 24.3 percent were ten or more years old. Whatever the year of yours, a clear shot of the VIN plate and the odometer gives us the two facts every other question starts from.
Ten carriers here reported mileage to the FMCSA carrier census, and their median came to 13,751 miles per truck. The same census counts 93 drivers for local carriers working within 100 miles and 28 beyond it, so tell us where your truck is parked tonight and that is where we will plan to meet it.
Three miles east, the North American Rail Network maps the UTICA (NYSW) rail yard, and a second Utica yard sits 3.9 miles out on the same federal map. If your truck has pulled loads between those yards and local warehouses, we can collect it from the yard lot as easily as from your driveway; just name the lot and who holds the gate key.
The Energy Information Administration places two petroleum product terminals at Marcy, about 3 miles north-east of New York Mills. A tanker or fuel delivery truck that loads there belongs on our list, and any tank inspection certificates you hold should travel with the photos you send.
Quarries south and north of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists LITCHFIELD QUARRY, a crushed-stone site 9.9 miles south-east, and the Oriskany Falls Plant 13.2 miles to the south-west. Dump trucks and tri-axles that run stone from either pit are trucks we buy, and we can meet the truck at the pit’s yard if that is where it is kept.
North-east of town, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the POLAND PLANT sand and gravel operation 14.3 miles away. If your truck hauled aggregate out of Poland and now sits on a contractor’s lot, give us that address and a contact for the lot, and include photos of the body and the hoist along with the cab.
Factories, wholesale and dairy in the county
Straight trucks and tractors that make plant and distributor runs are welcome; tell us whether yours carried a liftgate or a reefer so we know what we are looking at.
A milk tanker, grain truck or livestock hauler from one of those farms qualifies, and the farm’s registration or title papers are the documents to dig out first.
A dump or flatbed from one of those outfits can be sold just like a road tractor, as long as the business name on the title matches whoever signs.
A lost title in New York Mills goes to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles office at 321 Main St in Utica, 3.5 miles from town. Order the replacement before you reach out, since the title is the one document the sale cannot go ahead without.
If you have questions about either rule, that department’s heavy-duty vehicle page is the place to read the current status.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Rome Research Laboratory, a military installation, 10.3 miles north-west of New York Mills. If your truck is stored on or near a gated site like that, arrange access ahead of time and tell us who will meet the driver at the entrance.
