East Setauket fuel
Tank trucks loading east of the Nissequogue River
The Energy Information Administration places the East Setauket petroleum product terminal 4.9 miles east of Nissequogue, and the North Holtsville Terminal 8.8 miles to the south-east. A tank truck or fuel delivery straight truck that loads at either site is one we collect. Have the cab card and the tank’s last inspection sheet ready with the title.
If your fuel truck is parked near the Setauket racks or back home along the Nissequogue River, tell us the street and how a rollback reaches it. Send photos of the tank, the pump, the hose reel and the VIN plate with your message.
Ferry dock, rail spur
Box trucks at the harbor, tankers at the transload
Port Jefferson, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists as a port, lies 6.4 miles north-east of the village. Box trucks and tractors that meet the harbor are welcome here; send the registration and a few photos of the cab and the deck.
Fourteen miles east, Brookhaven Rail Terminal appears twice: once as a liquid bulk terminal in Bureau of Transportation Statistics records and once as a rail yard on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and that same bureau. Tractors and tankers working the transload there can be picked up at the yard gate or at your own lot; just give us the address.
Westward, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics also lists a liquid bulk terminal called Global at 17.9 miles. A tanker that shuttles between Global and Brookhaven can be collected at either end of that route.
Dump bodies east
Sand and gravel pits out past Coram
Coram Materials Corp sits 11.2 miles east of the village on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and Roanoke Sand & Gravel Corporation 12.8 miles out in the same direction. Dump trucks, roll-offs and tri-axles hauling aggregate from those pits are trucks we buy.
A dump truck that stays at the pit or in a contractor’s yard does not need to come to Nissequogue first. Tell us where it is parked, send pictures of the body, the hoist and the cab, and keep the title and registration together for the day we arrive.
A small job base and horse country
Inside this riverside village, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) tally 313 jobs for 2023, a small base of local employers. Landscaping trucks, service bodies and pickups with plows belonging to owners here are on our list as much as tractors are.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 578 farms across Suffolk County, and potted flowering plants, horses and hogs top that list. Stake-bed nursery trucks, livestock haulers and horse vans kept on a farm near Nissequogue can be collected right from the barn or greenhouse lot.
Nissequogue owners and the Hauppauge DMV
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles handles a lost certificate of title, and its HAUPPAUGE office at 250 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Hauppauge sits 5.9 miles from the village. Start the replacement there, or through the agency’s title replacement page, before you schedule a pickup.
For the Hauppauge visit, carry your registration plus photo ID. If a lender still shows on the title, have the lien release letter with you, so the new certificate comes back clear in your name.
Diesel owners and the paused clean-truck rules
Both the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HD Omnibus) Regulation are on New York’s books for owners around Nissequogue; enforcement of each is on hold. A diesel tractor or straight truck from a Nissequogue owner is still one we will look at.
Keep the engine’s emissions label legible and photograph it with the VIN plate. A Suffolk County owner who sends those two pictures gives us the engine family up front.
