Heating-oil and fuel haulers heading south-west
The Energy Information Administration lists the BRONX petroleum product terminal 7.8 miles south-west of Pelham Manor, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Sprague liquid bulk terminal at 8.1 miles in the same direction. A tractor that has pulled fuel or heating oil between those racks and Westchester driveways is a truck we buy, so mention the terminals it loaded at when you first get in touch.
Due south at 8.2 miles, The Energy Conservation Group appears twice: as a petroleum product terminal on Energy Information Administration lists and as a liquid bulk terminal with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your straight truck or tank wagon delivered from that yard, keep any hazmat placarding records and tank test certificates with the title, and photograph the tank shell, valves and plate alongside the cab.
Drayage from Oak Point to Red Hook
Two Oak Point rail yard entries sit 7.5 and 8.1 miles south-west of the village on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your day cab drayed transload freight out of Oak Point, we collect it where it is parked, so give us that street address rather than the rail yard’s.
Farther out, Red Hook Container Terminal is a rail intermodal ramp 17.9 miles south-west on Bureau of Transportation Statistics records. For a tractor that has hauled boxes off that Brooklyn ramp, send the VIN, a clear shot of the fifth wheel and the cab, and say whether a container chassis comes with it.
West Nyack stone and village contractors
West Nyack Quarry, a crushed-stone operation 16.9 miles north-west across the Hudson, is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Dump trucks and tri-axles that ran aggregate from that pit into Westchester job sites fit what we purchase; note the body length and whether the tailgate and hoist paperwork are on hand.
Fifty construction establishments are counted in the village by the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, and if yours is clearing out a box truck, a rack body or a small dump, list every unit with its plate and VIN in one message so a single collection visit can cover the whole set.
Secor Lane and six other bridges
Seven bridges are recorded in and around Pelham Manor by the National Bridge Inventory of the Federal Highway Administration, none of them load-posted and two with less than 14 feet of vertical clearance. When we plan a pickup with a tall box or a tractor and trailer, tell us the streets the truck normally uses to leave the village.
Route 907W passes over Secor Lane on a structure the Federal Highway Administration’s National Bridge Inventory measures at 12ft 7in of clearance. If your truck is kept on a lot that is reached only beneath that span, say so up front, and we will arrange the carrier and the approach around it.
Replacing a lost title across the Bronx line
The Bronx License Center at 1350 Commerce Ave, Bronx, a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles office 4.3 miles from Pelham Manor, is the nearest place to apply for a duplicate title. Once the duplicate is applied for at Commerce Ave, mention that it is pending in your first message to us.
Alongside the title, have the current New York registration, the most recent inspection sticker record and any service log you keep. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles name on the title should match the seller, or a lien release from the lender should travel with it.
Village employers, county farms and DEC rules
In 2023 the village held 3,083 jobs, a total drawn from the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. If your service van, landscaping rig or delivery straight truck works for one of those employers, we collect it from the driveway or commercial lot where it sits.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 108 farms across Westchester County, led by equine operations, potted flowering plants and foliage plants. Nursery box trucks and the pickups that tow horse trailers off those farms are welcome; tell us the farm’s town so the collection goes to the right address.
On the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s own notices, enforcement of the Advanced Clean Trucks regulation and of the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus regulation is paused. Photograph your diesel truck’s engine year and emissions label anyway; we ask about the engine family.
The questions we get asked in Pelham Manor
- My title is lost; where do Pelham Manor owners replace it?The Bronx License Center at 1350 Commerce Ave is 4.3 miles away and is run by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles; apply for the duplicate there and send us a photo of the receipt while it is processed.
- Can you collect a tall truck near the Secor Lane underpass?Route 907W crosses Secor Lane at 12ft 7in according to the National Bridge Inventory, so tell us the truck’s height and its usual way out, and we will route the carrier to suit.
- Do you buy fuel delivery trucks from the Bronx terminals?Terminals like BRONX and Sprague, 7.8 and 8.1 miles south-west on Energy Information Administration and Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists, supply the kind of tank trucks we purchase; send the tank plate, test dates and the VIN.
- Are the clean truck rules stopping me from selling in New York?Enforcement of both the Advanced Clean Trucks and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus regulations is listed as paused by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and we take diesel trucks registered in Westchester County.
