The Cortland Manor terminal and the road toward the river
Drive 10.9 miles west of Shenorock and you reach the Cortland Manor petroleum product terminal, as the Energy Information Administration lists it. A tanker or fuel truck that loads there and delivers around the Somers and Yorktown area is exactly what we collect, and it can stay parked at your yard or home while we arrange it.
Before you call about a fuel hauler, gather the title, the current New York registration and any tank inspection certificates you kept for it. Add clear photos of the tank shell, the valves and the cab, taken where the truck is parked in or near Shenorock.
Past the terminal, Camp Smith, a National Guard training site that the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places 11 miles west, sits along the same stretch toward the Hudson. If your truck is kept on that side of the county, give us the street address and a note on gate access so the pickup crew knows where to turn in.
Rail-side Croton
Two rail yards southwest of the lake
On the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the North Croton yard lies 11.8 miles southwest of Shenorock, and Harmon Shops lies 12.1 miles in the same direction. Box trucks and straight trucks that shuttle parts and supplies along that corridor fit what we purchase.
If your truck has worked the Croton side, tell us its body type, the VIN and where it sleeps at night. A shop lot near Harmon or a driveway in Shenorock makes no difference to us; we come to the truck rather than asking you to move it.
Keep your service records together with the title in one folder. A seller near the rail yards who can hand over that folder at pickup finishes the paperwork in one visit.
Putnam line pits
Quarries to the north of Shenorock
Three aggregate sites appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records near town: Century Aggregates’ Fishkill sand and gravel mine 14.2 miles northwest, Fishkill Quarry 14.5 miles northwest, and Patterson Quarry Plant #79 14.5 miles northeast across the Putnam line. Tri-axle dumps, roll-offs and tractors with end-dump trailers are the usual equipment around operations like these.
If your dump truck hauls from Patterson or the Fishkill pits, send photos of the body, the hoist and the chassis plate along with a cab shot. Note whether the truck is kept on site at a quarry, since some plants need a visitor cleared at the scale house before a pickup.
A tractor and its dump trailer can be sold together or apart. Say which you have in mind, and include the trailer’s own title or registration if it carries one.
Titles in this state are issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and its Brewster office at 1 Geneva Rd, Brewster sits 9 miles from Shenorock according to the department’s own office listing. A Shenorock owner whose truck title has gone missing can apply for a duplicate at that Geneva Road counter.
Bring your registration and identification when you visit Brewster, and ask for a replacement title certificate in the name already on record. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles also explains the replacement steps on its titles page, so you can check what to bring before making the drive.
If a lender still holds a lien on the truck, ask for the release letter now. A Shenorock seller with a clean title in hand and the lien release attached gives us everything needed to complete the sale.
Stables and greenhouses
Nurseries, stables and the trucks behind them
Around Shenorock and the rest of Westchester County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 108 farms, with horses, potted flowering plants and foliage plants as the leading products. Stake-body trucks, nursery box trucks and the tractors that pull horse trailers all fit the trucks we take.
For a nursery truck, photograph the liftgate and the cargo box, and tell us whether it carries a farm plate or a standard commercial registration. A stable owner selling a tractor should name the hitch type and say whether the trailer goes with it.
Two DEC heavy-truck regulations on hold
New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation lists the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation for heavy trucks, and the state has put its enforcement on hold. For a Shenorock owner, that means the sale of a diesel tractor or dump truck proceeds as usual under the department’s current notice.
The department also lists the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HD Omnibus) Regulation, and enforcement of that one is likewise on hold. Shenorock sellers can check the department’s page for updates, but neither rule changes the paperwork we ask you to have ready.
