Two pits, opposite bearings
Aggregate haulers working Wehrle and the north-east pit
Head 7.2 miles north-west of Town Line and you reach Wehrle Quarry, a crushed-stone operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list of mines. Dump trucks and tri-axles that load stone there usually sit at a contractor’s yard or at home between runs, so give us the street address where yours is parked and we will plan the collection at that spot.
On the opposite bearing, County Line Stone Co Inc runs a crushed-stone quarry 10.9 miles to the north-east, as listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. If your truck has hauled aggregate out of either pit, send photos of the body, the hoist and the cab, along with the VIN, so we know exactly which configuration we are looking at.
Rails past the city line
Day cabs between BISON, East Buffalo and the container ramp
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places the BISON yard 10.9 miles west of town and the EAST BUFFALO yard 11.8 miles out on the same heading. Day cabs that shuttle freight between those yards and nearby docks belong on our list, and a tractor still hitched to a trailer at a yard lot can be collected there once you tell us who controls the gate.
Containers move through the Buffalo, NY intermodal ramp, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts 11.2 miles west of Town Line. For a tractor that has pulled boxes off that ramp, have the registration and the title in hand before you reach out; those two documents answer most of what we need to ask.
Liquid loads past Bison
Fuel and transload runs beyond Transflo and TBT
Two liquid bulk terminals sit west of town on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list: Norfolk Southern TBT at 11.3 miles and Transflo CSXT at 13 miles. Tractors that pull tankers between rail transload sites like these are trucks we purchase, and any terminal inspection reports or service records you kept should go with your photos.
A petroleum product terminal called BUFFALO lies 13.6 miles west, per the Energy Information Administration. If your rig hauled fuel out of it, tell us whether the tank trailer is part of the sale or whether only the tractor is going, so we arrange the right equipment for pickup.
What the inspectors stopped
A 2019 median among tractors checked at roadside here
Town Line’s share of FMCSA roadside inspection records, running from late August 2024 to mid-August 2026, covers 146 trucks whose middle model year lands on 2019. Have your own truck’s model year and VIN ready when you contact us; those two details let us match it to the right specification sheet straight away.
Roughly 35.6 percent of the trucks in that same set of FMCSA roadside inspection records were ten or more model years old. Whether your tractor is a recent model or an older one, we buy it, and the registration card is the quickest place to confirm the year you give us.
Shops, barns and payrolls
Contractors, farms and jobs in town
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau count 47 construction establishments for this area, and the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put local employment at 355 jobs in 2023. If a contractor’s dump truck or flatbed is sitting idle behind a shop in Town Line, the shop lot is a fine place for us to collect it.
Across Erie County, 918 farms were recorded in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, corn and soybeans at the top of the list. A milk tanker, grain truck or straight truck kept on a farm outside town can be picked up from the barnyard; just tell us whether the lane can take a tow rig.
Williamsville mall office for a lost Town Line title
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles handles title replacement, and its nearest office for Town Line is ERIE COUNTY - EASTERN HILLS MALL at 4545 Transit Rd, Williamsville, 8.7 miles away. If the original title is missing, request a replacement from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles before we schedule the collection, and keep the receipt with your paperwork.
A lienholder named on the title needs to release it first, so ask your lender for a lien release letter early. Bring that letter, your registration and photo ID to the Williamsville office, and the replacement title will show the truck free and clear in your name.
New York diesel rules on pause
ACT and the Omnibus, both on hold for now
New York’s state environmental regulators list the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Regulation, and for now its enforcement is paused. Town Line owners selling a diesel tractor today can do so without any ACT paperwork attached to the sale.
The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HD Omnibus) Regulation appears on the state’s list too, and its enforcement has also been paused. A seller in Erie County should still keep engine and emissions labels visible in the photos, since the engine family helps us identify the truck.
The questions we get asked in Town Line
- Can you collect a tri-axle that stays out by Wehrle Quarry instead of in town?Wehrle Quarry sits 7.2 miles north-west of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and we collect from wherever the truck is parked. Share the quarry-side address plus a phone number for the person holding the yard key.
- Which DMV counter replaces a misplaced title for a Town Line owner? The Eastern Hills Mall office of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, at 4545 Transit Rd in Williamsville, is 8.7 miles from town and handles title replacement.
- Do you buy tractors that hauled out of the Buffalo rail yards?BISON and EAST BUFFALO, two yards on the North American Rail Network west of town, are typical bases for the day cabs we purchase. A VIN, a registration card and pictures of the cab and frame are enough to open the conversation.
