Pallets, lumber loads and trash bodies registered in Walden
Of the 184 active motor carriers FMCSA’s carrier census places in Walden, 137 are private fleets moving their own materials, not other people’s loads. If your truck belonged to a contractor, a landscaper or a supplier that moved its own materials, it still counts as a commercial truck we buy, so describe the work it did when you reach us.
General freight is the cargo most often declared by Walden carriers, 75 of them according to FMCSA’s census, with machinery and large objects at 41. A box truck, a straight truck or a lowboy tractor that pulled equipment trailers fits that mix; send the VIN, a cab photo and one of the deck or body.
Logs, poles, beams and lumber appear on 28 Walden carrier registrations in the FMCSA census, and garbage, refuse and trash on 24. Log trucks with loaders and roll-off or rear-load refuse bodies are both on our list, so tell us what is mounted on the chassis and whether the body stays with the truck.
Walden drivers mostly work close to home
Of the Walden carriers in FMCSA’s census, 148 operate intrastate only and 36 cross state lines. A truck that stayed inside New York usually carries New York registration and a New York title alone, which keeps the transfer paperwork simple; have both on hand before we schedule the collection.
Drivers listed by Walden carriers in the federal carrier census break down as 577 working within 100 miles of base and 107 going farther. Most trucks here park at a yard, a job site or the owner’s driveway between runs, so give us the street address where the truck actually sits rather than the business’s mailing address.
Among the 35 Walden carriers that report annual mileage to FMCSA’s census, the median is 10,000 miles per truck. Note the current odometer reading from the dash and include it with your photos so it can be matched against the title.
How old the trucks stopped at roadside actually are
Walden carriers had 130 trucks pulled into FMCSA roadside inspections from late August 2024 to late August 2026, with 2020 as the median model year. Whatever year your truck is, the model year printed on the title is the one we go by, so check that it matches the VIN plate on the door jamb.
Those same roadside inspection records from FMCSA put 21.54 percent of the inspected Walden trucks at ten or more model years old. Older and newer trucks are both welcome; if you kept inspection reports or service invoices, photograph them along with the truck.
Mines, bases and fuel docks near the village
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Grosso Materials, an industrial-mineral mine 6.6 miles west of Walden, and Callahan & Nannini Shale, a crushed-stone quarry 11.1 miles south. If your dump truck or tri-axle is parked at either site, we can collect it there once you arrange gate access with the operator.
Stewart IAP and Stewart Annex sit 6.7 miles south-east of the village in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ list of military installations. A truck stored on or near a base will need a contact who can escort a pickup through the gate, so give us that name with the address.
To the east, the Energy Information Administration records the Newburgh and North Newburgh petroleum product terminals about 10.5 and 10.6 miles away, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics adds the Global and Warex Terminals Corporation liquid bulk terminals at 10.6 miles. For a tanker tractor that served those docks, list the trailers it pulled and say whether any trailer is part of the sale.
Construction, factories and dairy country
Manufacturing accounts for 189 of the 1,130 jobs located in Walden in 2023 under the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, construction for 98 and wholesale trade for 78. Delivery trucks, flatbeds and equipment haulers serving those employers are all trucks we purchase; a clear photo of each side plus the title gets the conversation started.
Walden’s area holds 49 construction establishments, a figure from the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, and their dump and mixer trucks are welcome here. If a contractor is retiring a dump truck, a mixer or a crane truck, list any attached equipment so the full unit is described before we arrive.
In USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, Orange County had 613 farms, with milk, equine and potted flowering plants leading the list. Milk haulers, livestock and horse-trailer tractors and nursery delivery trucks from those farms can be collected right where they are parked on the property.
Newburgh’s title office and the village’s posted spans
A lost New York title is replaced through the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, whose Newburgh office at 128 Broadway is about 10 miles from Walden. Apply for the duplicate before we schedule the collection, and bring the registration and your ID to that office.
Two of Walden’s 7 bridges carry posted load limits, and none clears less than 14 feet, per the National Bridge Inventory. Name the roads that reach the spot where the truck is parked, and we plan a pickup route around any posted span.
For a Walden owner weighing a sale, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation currently lists enforcement as paused on both its Advanced Clean Trucks and Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus rules. Either way, a diesel truck registered in New York can still be sold to us with its title and registration.
