Bellaire dock
Coal loading three miles down the river
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists CCU Bellaire Dock, a coal preparation plant, 3.2 miles south of Bridgeport. A tractor or dump truck that has shuttled to that dock is usually parked close to home, so give us the street address or lot where it sits and we will plan the collection there rather than ask you to move it.
Further west, CCU Belmont Strip appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as a coal mine 23.8 miles out. If your truck has hauled between the strip and the river dock, note the route in your first message along with the VIN, and send photos of the bed, the frame and the cab so we see the whole truck before we talk.
Uniontown Stone, a crushed-stone quarry, sits 13.8 miles west of town according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, and the same agency places Egypt Valley Stone 19.6 miles in that direction. Owners of tri-axle dumps and end-dump trailers that run those pits can list the axle setup and body type up front, which settles most of our questions in one reply.
When a quarry truck is kept at the pit rather than in Bridgeport, tell us which site and who can open the gate. Having the registration and the title in hand on collection day keeps the handover short at a quarry yard.
Two rail yards up the river to the north-east
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows the MINGO (NS) yard 17.7 miles north-east of Bridgeport and the MINGO (WE) yard at 18 miles. A day cab that has worked drayage at either yard can be sold from wherever it is parked; just tell us which lot and whether a key and a contact will be there.
Up at Steubenville, the Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal 24.5 miles north of town. Tank tractors that load there should come with their inspection paperwork and service records, so put those in a folder with the title before we arrive.
Forty-four active carriers are on file in FMCSA’s carrier census for Bridgeport, and 25 of them list general freight while 18 haul machinery and large objects. Lowboy tractors, flatbeds and box trucks all fit what we buy here, so send the year, make and model with a few clear photos to start.
Timber is on the list too: FMCSA’s carrier census shows 12 local carriers hauling logs, poles, beams and lumber, and nine carrying garbage, refuse and trash. Log trucks and roll-off or rear-load refuse trucks are welcome; describe the body and any loader or packer mounted on it.
Most Bridgeport operators cross state lines, with FMCSA’s carrier census counting 33 interstate carriers against 11 intrastate, and 29 that run private fleets. A private-fleet truck titled to a business needs the signature of whoever is authorised to sign for that company, so line that person up before collection.
Between September 2024 and August 2026, inspectors stopped 88 trucks belonging to Bridgeport carriers, and FMCSA roadside inspection records give their median model year as 2021, with 28.4 percent at ten years or older. Whatever the year of yours, have the odometer reading and the VIN ready when you get in touch.
For the 15 carriers reporting it, FMCSA’s carrier census puts the median at 10,000 miles a truck per year. The same census shows the three biggest local operations with 37, 37 and 17 power units. A fleet manager selling several units at once can send one list with each VIN and its location, and we will work through them together.
River town numbers
Clearances, contractors and cattle farms
The National Bridge Inventory lists nine bridges in Bridgeport, with none load-posted and none under a fourteen-foot clearance. Tell us the truck’s height and whether it sits on a trailer, and we will pick the right equipment to reach it.
Of 467 jobs in town in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 71 in construction, a 15.2 percent share, and County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau records 18 construction establishments. Contractors parting with a dump truck or equipment hauler can send the build sheet or the last service invoice along with photos.
Out across Belmont County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 756 farms, led by cattle, milk and equine operations. Livestock haulers, milk tankers and horse-trailer tractors parked on a farm lane are collected where they stand; send directions to the barn with your message.
St. Clairsville office
Bridgeport owners go to the Belmont County Clerk of Courts Title Office, which the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles lists 5.2 miles away at 52180 National Rd Suite A in St. Clairsville (43950), one of the County Clerk of Courts title offices through which the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles issues titles. If the title is missing, a duplicate from that office is the first step.
Bring photo ID and the VIN to the St. Clairsville counter, and if a lender is still listed, ask for the lien release as well. Once the duplicate is in your hands, send us a photo of the front of it along with the registration.
