Grain, feed and the corn and soybean harvest
Corn leads soybeans and cattle on the 794 Fulton County farms tallied by USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and Delta’s grain trucks serve that ground. A Delta tractor or straight truck that hauls grain at harvest often spends the off months parked in a machine shed or a farmyard, and that is where we collect it, so give us the farm road and which building it sits in.
Seventeen of the Delta-based carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census list grain, feed and hay as a cargo, and ten list farm supplies. If your truck pulled a hopper or a feed body, send pictures of the trailer hookup and the body along with the cab, and mention whether the box goes with the sale.
Delta carriers
FMCSA’s carrier census lists 68 active carriers in Delta: 33 run interstate, 35 stay inside Ohio, and 42 are private fleets moving their own goods. Whichever group yours falls in, have the title and the current registration in the same name before we arrive at your yard.
General freight is the cargo listed by 30 of those carriers in the FMCSA census, and 13 more list machinery and large objects. If your rig hauled equipment on a lowboy or a step deck, tell us whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays behind with the business.
The three biggest fleets in town, according to FMCSA’s census, run 26, 17 and 14 power units. An operation that size retiring a few units at once can list every VIN in one message, and we work through the units together rather than one call per truck.
Short hauls, 2017 trucks
Delta mileage and the 2017 median model year
Among the 28 Delta carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA, the median works out to 10,000 miles a truck each year. Drivers stay close as well: FMCSA’s census logs 132 drivers working within 100 miles and 76 beyond it. Give us the address where the truck parks between runs, and that is where we collect it.
Twenty-nine Delta trucks stopped between September 2024 and August 2026 show a 2017 median model year in FMCSA roadside inspection records, and 48.3 percent carried a model year ten or more years back. Note the model year, the engine make and the odometer reading when you first reach out, and we can start from there.
Waterville, Sylvania, Toledo
Quarries, rail yards and the Toledo ramp
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Waterville Stone Quarry 15.6 miles east of Delta and the Sylvania Stone Quarry 15.9 miles to the north-east, both producing crushed stone. Dump trucks and aggregate haulers working those pits can be picked up at the quarry lot if the operator allows a visitor; tell us whose permission the gate needs.
On the North American Rail Network, maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the FORD yard sits 17.2 miles east and the CARGILL yard 17.9 miles east. A day cab that shuttles between those yards and Fulton County can stay where it is parked; we come to it.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Toledo, OH rail intermodal ramp 22.1 miles east of town and lists the Toledo/Exp Airport military installation 11.3 miles east. If your tractor pulls boxes from that ramp, bring the VIN and a photo of the data plate to the first conversation.
Delta wholesale docks and Fulton County contractors
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 921 jobs in Delta for 2023, with 183 of them in wholesale trade and 88 in transportation and warehousing. Box trucks and straight trucks from loading docks in town are part of what we purchase, and a dock address is fine as the pickup point.
Twenty-two Fulton County construction firms appear in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, and their dump trucks and flatbeds work job sites around Delta. A dump truck, flatbed or service body kept at a contractor’s shop qualifies; send photos from all four sides plus the cab, and name who will hand over the keys.
For a Delta owner whose Ohio title has gone missing, the state’s title agency issues the duplicate, so request it before we schedule the Fulton County pickup. If a lender is still on the title, have the lien release ready or tell us the lender’s name so it can be settled at the sale.
Two new carriers registered in Delta during 2024 and one in 2025, by FMCSA’s census, so some owners here are newer to selling a truck. Keep the title, registration, any service records and a set of clear photos together, and the sale moves in order from first message to pickup.
