Prep plants and mines
Coal hauling between Tusky Prep, Stonecreek and Vail
Tusky Prep, a coal preparation plant, lies 1.7 miles east of Dennison according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A tractor or dump truck that has hauled to that plant may still be parked within sight of it; tell us the lot and who holds the gate key, and we collect it there.
Further out, Stonecreek Mine is another coal preparation plant 9.7 miles west, while the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists KIMBLE #1, a coal mine, 11.5 miles north-west and Vail Mine 13.5 miles south. If your truck sits at one of those sites rather than at home in Dennison, give us the site name and a phone number for whoever is on duty there, and we will plan the pickup around their hours.
Coal-hauling trucks often change hands with logbooks, scale tickets or inspection sheets in the cab. Gather what you have, add photos of the cab, frame and tires, and send them with the VIN so we start from the same picture you do.
Sand, gravel and crushed stone up toward Midvale
MIDVALE SAND & GRAVEL is 4.4 miles north-west of town on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, and PLANT #2, another sand and gravel operation, is 8.7 miles west. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that worked those pits can be collected right at the pit if the operator allows it, so ask before you move anything.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists the Kimble Clay, Limestone Quarry and Mill, a crushed-stone quarry 12.6 miles north-west. A truck that has spent seasons hauling stone from Kimble is one we buy; bring the title, the current registration and any service records together before we call.
If the truck is a tri-axle or a quad with a body bolted on, say so and send a photo of the body plate as well as the chassis VIN plate. That lets us confirm both parts before arranging collection.
Dover’s rail yard, twelve miles up the valley
Up the line toward Dover, 11.9 miles north-west of Dennison, sits the DOVER rail yard on the North American Rail Network, the map the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics keep together. Owners who ran loads to and from that yard can leave the truck parked near Dover; we come to it there.
Give us a street address or a pin for the spot, plus the name of anyone who has to sign the truck out. Day cabs that shuttled to the Dover yard are welcome, and so are sleepers that went further.
In that same census, 16 list general freight, 6 haul machinery and large objects, and 3 each carry farm supplies or logs, poles, beams and lumber. Whatever the trailer behind your tractor, we buy the tractor, and a lowboy or log truck is as welcome as a van tractor.
Eleven of those Dennison carriers are registered as interstate and fourteen as intrastate, and seven run private fleets, by FMCSA’s count. A private-fleet truck that hauled only its owner’s goods sells the same way: title in the business’s name, signed by whoever is authorised for the company.
The three biggest local fleets list 22, 8 and 8 power units in the federal carrier census, and FMCSA records show 3 new carriers registered in 2025 after 2 in 2024. Selling one truck from a small fleet, or several at once, starts with a list of VINs and where each one is parked.
Annual mileage on a Dennison tractor
Have a current odometer photo ready; it is one of the first things we ask for.
The federal carrier census lists 48 local drivers working beyond a hundred-mile radius and 30 who stay within it. If your truck is out on a long run when you decide to sell, tell us where it will finish its last load and we can meet it there or back in Dennison.
Dairy farms, builders and local jobs
Tuscarawas County held 1,154 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, corn and cattle as the top products. Milk tankers, grain trucks and cattle haulers off those farms are trucks we buy, and a farm truck can be collected from the barnyard where it is kept.
County Business Patterns, from the Census Bureau, lists 8 construction establishments in the area, and the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts show 558 jobs in Dennison for 2023. A contractor’s dump truck or roll-off parked at a job site can be picked up from that site once you tell us who to contact on the ground.
A title office under a mile from Dennison
The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles issues titles through County Clerk of Courts title offices, and its listing puts the Tuscarawas County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 206 East Third Street, Uhrichsville, 44683, 0.9 miles from Dennison. If a title is lost, that clerk’s office is where a duplicate is applied for.
Bring photo ID and the VIN when you visit Third Street. If a lender still holds a lien, ask for the lien release first, so the clean title is ready when we arrive to collect the truck.
