Tank work starts just south-east of town
The Energy Information Administration places the East Liverpool petroleum product terminal 0.7 miles south-east of the city, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records a liquid bulk terminal 1 mile south. A tractor that has shuttled between those two gates is probably parked within a couple of miles of them, so give us the street address or yard name and we plan the collection there.
Another pair sits 5.6 miles west and south-west: the Wellsville asphalt terminal on the Energy Information Administration’s list and a liquid bulk terminal that the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places at the same distance. If your tanker or tractor pulled asphalt or fuel out of Wellsville, keep the title, the current Ohio registration and any terminal loading records together, and photograph the cab, frame and tank before you call.
Coils, machinery and lumber on Columbiana County trucks
East Liverpool, in Columbiana County, is home base for 43 active trucking carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census. In that census, 19 haul general freight, 14 carry machinery and large objects, 11 move metal sheets, coils and rolls, and 10 haul logs, poles, beams and lumber, so flatbeds, step decks and coil-rated trailers belong on the list of what we collect here.
The same FMCSA census splits the town’s operators into 26 with interstate authority and 16 working only inside Ohio, while 27 haul their own company’s goods as private fleets. A private-fleet truck often carries the company’s name on the title rather than a driver’s, so have the officer who can sign for the business ready when we schedule the pickup.
From single trucks to fleets of dozens
The three biggest local fleets on FMCSA’s carrier census run 55, 43 and 12 power units, with 50, 43 and 11 drivers. An operator letting several units go at once can list every VIN in one message, and we arrange the trucks yard by yard rather than one call per tractor.
Of the East Liverpool drivers on FMCSA’s census, 127 stay inside a 100-mile radius of the yard and 92 range past it, so a truck may be parked at a customer’s site out of state when you call. Across 15 carriers reporting mileage to that census, the median truck covers 19,767 miles a year; note the odometer reading alongside the VIN when you contact us, since those two details start every conversation.
Mines and quarries within twenty miles
Six miles south-west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Wellsville Facility, a mineral processing plant. The Mine Safety and Health Administration also registers Shale Pit 002, an industrial-mineral mine 16.5 miles west, and dump trucks or tri-axles that served either site can be collected where they are parked.
Subtropolis, a crushed-stone quarry 19.4 miles north, is also on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s register. If your truck sits at a quarry or plant lot, tell us who controls the gate and their hours, and keep its maintenance log with the title so the history is in hand on collection day.
Bridges, the Steubenville yard and the routes out
Among the 19 bridges the National Bridge Inventory records in East Liverpool, none is load-posted and none has under 14 feet of clearance, so a tractor and lowboy can leave town without a detour around a restricted span.
According to the North American Rail Network, which the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain, the Steubenville rail yard lies 20.3 miles south. A day cab that has run drayage to that yard can stay where it is; send its location and a photo of the VIN plate.
Wholesale, manufacturing and dairy
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 put 2,938 jobs in East Liverpool: 142 in wholesale trade, 84 in transportation and warehousing, 74 in manufacturing and 65 in construction. Box trucks from the wholesale side and dump or flatbed trucks from construction both fit what we purchase, and the title in the business’s name is the first document we ask for.
Columbiana County has 1,129 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, corn and soybeans as the top products. A milk tanker or grain truck kept on a farm here can be collected from the farmyard; tell us whether the lane takes a rollback and whether the title is in a family member’s name.
Titles and new registrations
FMCSA’s carrier census shows one new carrier registered in East Liverpool in 2024 and one more in 2025. A recently started operator may still have a lienholder on the title, so have the lender’s name and payoff contact ready before the pickup is booked.
If the Ohio title is lost, apply for a replacement through the state’s title agency before we book the collection. Bring that replacement or the lien release on the day, together with the keys and the current registration card.
