Sidings at the village edge
Two rail yards within a mile of Elmwood Place
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, puts the Ivorydale yard half a mile west of Elmwood Place and the Berry yard 0.7 miles to the south-east. A truck that shuttles between those yards and nearby docks is often parked on a lot rather than a driveway, so tell us the gate, the yard contact and any hours the lot keeps before we arrange collection.
Day cabs and straight trucks that run short hops off rail sidings like Ivorydale and Berry are trucks we buy. Send the VIN, a photo of the door sticker and a clear shot of the cab and frame, and say which yard the truck works from so the person who answers knows where to find it.
Racks and tank docks
Elmwood Place tankers and the terminals that load them
Just 1.2 miles below the village, the Energy Information Administration lists Cincinnati North, a petroleum product terminal where Elmwood Place fuel trucks can load. If your tanker or fuel truck loads there, keep its hazmat placards, tank test certificates and any terminal access paperwork together; those records show what the tank carried and where it was cleared to go.
Further out, Liquid Transfer Terminals, Inc. sits 5.7 miles south-east and Kinder Morgan 5.9 miles south-east, both listed as liquid bulk terminals by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A tank trailer or tractor that ran between those docks and the Cincinnati North rack can be collected wherever it is stored; give us the address and tell us whether the tank is empty and cleaned.
Port of Cincinnati and the Queensgate and Gest Street ramps
The port of Cincinnati, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists 3.2 miles south of Elmwood Place, handles river freight that leaves the docks by truck. Owners of a chassis puller or flatbed working the riverfront should note the berth or terminal it usually sits at, since that is often where we end up meeting the truck.
Two rail intermodal ramps appear in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings to the south-west: Queensgate Yard at 5.2 miles and Gest Street at 6 miles. Tractors that drayed containers between those ramps and the river belong on our list, and a copy of the registration plus the cab card is enough for us to start.
Freight jobs inside a village of a thousand workers
In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) recorded 1,044 jobs located in Elmwood Place, and 199 of them, 19.1 percent, fell in transportation and warehousing. That leaves a fair number of drivers, dispatchers and small fleet owners in town who may have a spare tractor or box truck sitting idle.
Whether you run one truck or several, list each unit by VIN with its plate, and let us know if any of them is still under a lease or a loan. A lender’s name and a payoff letter save a second round of questions once we have seen the photos.
Grain and cattle hauling around the county
Outside the rail corridor, Hamilton County still holds 322 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with corn, soybeans and cattle listed as its top products. Grain trucks, hoppers and livestock haulers that serve those farms are trucks we buy as readily as anything off the rail yards.
A farm truck is usually parked in a barn lot or a field edge, so describe the access: a gravel lane, a gate code, whether a tow rig can turn around. Farm plates and the title in the farm or owner’s name are what we ask to see.
Duplicate title downtown
Where Elmwood Place owners replace a lost title
Titles in Ohio are issued by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles through County Clerk of Courts title offices, and for Elmwood Place that is the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 1001 Main Street Downtown, Cincinnati, 45202, about 5.6 miles from the village.
If the title is missing, a duplicate from that Main Street office is the step to take before we collect. Bring your ID and the VIN, plus any lien release from a former lender, and ask for the new title in your own name.
