Fort Recovery carriers haul what the farms grow
Grain, feed and hay top the cargo lines for Fort Recovery’s trucking outfits, claimed by 51 of the town’s 89 active carriers on FMCSA’s carrier census, with farm supplies close behind at 44. If your tractor has pulled a hopper or a feed trailer for local elevators and hog operations, tell us which trailer it ran with and whether that trailer is part of the sale.
Mercer County counts 1,292 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and hogs, milk and corn lead its output. Trucks that serve those farms are often parked at a barn or a farmstead rather than a yard, so give us the road name and say whether a loaded semi can turn around on the lane.
Dock to dock
Factory shifts and the trucks beside them
Manufacturing accounts for close to 40 percent of the work located in Fort Recovery, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023, with agriculture at nearly 16 percent and construction under 7. A box truck or straight truck that served a plant dock is something we collect, and its service records help us read its history before we arrive.
General freight shows up on 42 Fort Recovery carrier registrations, while machinery and large objects appear on 29, per FMCSA’s carrier census. If your rig moved equipment on a lowboy or step-deck, photos of the deck, the ramps and the tie-down points belong with your shots of the cab.
Farms and shops that run their own trucks
Sixty-five of the town’s registered carriers are private fleets moving their own goods, FMCSA’s carrier census shows, and 74 operate across state lines against 15 that stay inside Ohio. A farm or business selling one of its own trucks needs the title in the company’s name and someone authorised to sign it.
Fort Recovery’s top three registrations range from a 16-tractor shop through 99 units up to 1,949 power units, per FMCSA’s carrier census. Whether you are clearing one tractor or several from a lot, list each VIN with its location so a pickup can be planned for every unit at once.
New registrations picked up recently: FMCSA’s carrier census records eight carriers starting in Fort Recovery during 2025, after one in 2024. A newly authorised operator selling a first truck sends us the same things as a long-standing fleet: title, registration and clear photos.
Long haul, short haul
Fort Recovery drivers split between local and long routes
Among drivers working for carriers based here, 364 run long-haul and 279 stay in a local radius, according to FMCSA’s carrier census. If your sleeper is out on a route when you contact us, tell us where it will finish the run; we collect it at its last stop, not back in town.
Have the current odometer reading ready with the VIN when you first reach out, since our questions start from those two numbers.
Roughly one in eight of the Fort Recovery trucks in those FMCSA roadside inspection records, about 12 percent, carried a model year a decade or more back.
If your truck was among those stopped, keep the inspection reports with the rest of its paperwork. Along with maintenance logs, they give a dated record of the truck that photos alone cannot show.
Portland Street
A duplicate Ohio title from Portland Street in Celina
Ohio titles are handled by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles through County Clerk of Courts title offices, and Fort Recovery’s nearest is the Mercer County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 318 Portland Street, Celina, 13.7 miles from town. If your title is missing, request a duplicate there before we schedule the collection.
A truck still carrying a loan needs the lienholder’s release on file with that Celina clerk’s office. Bring the release letter along with your identification so the clean title can be issued in your name.
Trucks working the Ansonia siding and Weber Materials
The North American Rail Network places the Ansonia rail yard 15.3 miles south-east of Fort Recovery. A tractor that shuttles loads to and from that siding can be collected where it is parked; send the address and the name of whoever can let us onto the site.
Weber Materials, Ltd runs a crushed-stone quarry 24 miles north-east of town, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Mercer County also lists 28 construction businesses in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns, so dump trucks hauling aggregate are part of the local mix; photos of the bed and hoist help us confirm the setup.

- Our hopper tractor sits at a hog barn near Fort Recovery; will you pick it up there?Mercer County’s 1,292 farms, counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, are where many local trucks sit, and we collect at the farm. Give us the road and a contact who can meet us at the barn.
- Will you take a truck our Fort Recovery farm business ran for its own loads?Sixty-five Fort Recovery outfits on FMCSA’s carrier census haul only their own goods, and trucks from businesses like those are ones we collect.
