Shale and gravel a few miles out of Guilford Lake
Shale Pit 002, an industrial-mineral mine listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, lies about 8.2 miles south of town. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has hauled from a pit like that is often parked at the site or at the owner’s yard, so tell us which one it is and whether a loaded trailer is still hooked up.
Up the road to the north-east, Solomon’s Mines Inc. runs a sand and gravel operation roughly 8.5 miles from Guilford Lake, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. If your tri-axle or tandem has spent its seasons on that run, photograph the bed, the cab and the VIN plate before you call, and keep the registration in the glovebox for the day of pickup.
Asphalt and bulk liquid between Guilford Lake and the Ohio River
Buckeye Transfer, a liquid bulk terminal about 10.5 miles north-east, appears in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings. Owners of a tractor that pulled tank trailers in and out of there should note whether the trailer is part of the sale, since we can collect the tractor alone or the pair together.
Toward the Ohio River, roughly 17.8 miles south-east, the Energy Information Administration lists WELLSVILLE - ASPHALT as a petroleum product terminal, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records a Marathon Petroleum Corporation liquid bulk terminal at about 17.9 miles. If your asphalt tanker or fuel tractor worked those two sites, have any terminal inspection sheets or service records ready to send along with the photos.
Minerva’s rail yard and the stone east of the lake
Twelve point eight miles west, the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics shows a rail yard at MINERVA. Day cabs that shuttle loads between a yard and local customers tend to sit at a shipper’s lot between jobs, so give us the address and a name to call for gate access.
Subtropolis, a crushed-stone quarry the Mine Safety and Health Administration records about 18.6 miles east, and the WELLSVILLE FACILITY mineral processing plant some 17.8 miles south-east both sit east and south-east of the lake. A rock truck kept near either site does not need to come back to Guilford Lake for us to buy it; tell us where it stands and we plan the collection there.
Nine builders near the lake and their dump trucks
The Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns counts nine construction establishments in this area. Contractors that size usually run a handful of dump trucks, flatbeds and service bodies, and any one of them can be sold on its own without selling the rest of the fleet.
If you are a small contractor near the lake retiring a single dump truck or a stake bed, gather the title, the current Ohio registration and a few clear photos of the body and the cab. With nine builders counted by County Business Patterns, we are used to collecting from home driveways and shop yards as well as job sites.
Milk hauling on Columbiana County farms
Around Guilford Lake, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 1,129 farms across Columbiana County, with milk, corn and soybeans as the leading products. Bulk milk tankers, grain trucks and farm tractors that pull hopper trailers all fall within what we purchase.
A grain truck that only moves at harvest is often kept in a barn or machine shed for most of the year. Tell us the farm road, whether the lane takes a tractor-trailer for loading, and when someone will be at the property, and we will arrange to collect it from the farm itself.
Saltwell Road, Lisbon
A missing title and the Clerk of Courts on Saltwell Road
Ohio titles are issued under the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles through County Clerk of Courts title offices, and the one serving this town is the Columbiana County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 38832 Saltwell Road Po 349, Lisbon, 44432, about 5.5 miles from Guilford Lake. A seller who cannot find the title for a truck can apply there for a duplicate before we arrange the pickup.
Bring photo identification and the truck’s VIN to the Lisbon office, and if a lender’s lien is shown on the title, carry the lien release as well. When the Clerk of Courts issues the replacement, photograph its face and send it over so the owner’s name and VIN line up with the tractor or dump truck parked at Guilford Lake.
