Maumee Quarry, a crushed-stone operation listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, lies 3.7 miles south-east of Holland, and Sylvania Stone Quarry sits 5.2 miles to the north-west on the same agency’s records. A dump truck or tri-axle that has worked either pit can stay right where it is parked; give us the yard address and a name to call at the gate.
For an aggregate truck, photograph the body, the hoist, the frame rails and each axle, plus the door sticker with the VIN. Add the registration and any service log you keep, so the questions we ask after that are only about details the pictures leave out.
Two rail yards named CARGILL and FORD appear on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, at 3.9 and 4.2 miles south-east of the village. East of Holland, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics also lists the Toledo rail intermodal ramp 6.3 miles away, a stop for day cabs pulling containers.
Fuel terminals called WEST TOLEDO and TOLEDO sit 9.7 and 10.4 miles east on Energy Information Administration listings. A tractor that has pulled tankers or containers between those spots can be collected from a terminal lot, a ramp-side yard or your driveway in Holland; just tell us which one and who holds the key.
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 131 active carriers based in Holland, 74 of them interstate and 53 intrastate, with 58 hauling for their own company as private fleets. By cargo in that federal census, general freight leads at 73 carriers, then machinery and large objects at 25, metal sheets, coils and rolls at 16, and logs, poles, beams and lumber at 12.
New registrations in that same federal census ran to 10 in 2024 and 11 in 2025. If you own a flatbed that has carried coil or lumber, or a box truck that has run general freight, send the VIN, the plate and a clear shot of the title’s front so we can match the owner name before pickup is booked.
Local runs from the west side of Toledo
Drivers for Holland carriers mostly stay close, with 351 working within a 100-mile radius against 123 going farther, by the carrier census FMCSA keeps. Across 48 carriers reporting it, that census puts the median at 18,279 miles a year per truck.
A truck that runs regional loads is usually back in the yard each evening, which makes collection here a matter of naming the lot. The three biggest fleets based in the village run 54, 27 and 23 power units on FMCSA’s register; a fleet owner selling several units can list them together with each VIN.
Of those 65 inspected trucks, the FMCSA records show 26 percent were ten or more model years old.
Whatever year yours is, note it alongside the engine make and the transmission type when you first write to us. Attach a recent roadside inspection report too; it carries the VIN and the plate on one sheet.
Heatherdowns Boulevard, just over the Toledo line
Ohio titles are handled by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles through county Clerk of Courts title offices, and for Holland that is the Lucas County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 4456 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, 43614, about 3.6 miles from the village. A seller whose title is lost, or still shows a lien that has been cleared, goes there for a duplicate or a clean copy.
Bring a photo ID and the lien release letter from the lender if one applies. Once the replacement title is in hand, send us a picture of both sides and we can set the collection.
Wholesale, factory and building jobs nearby
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 list 3,227 jobs in Holland, with wholesale trade holding 411, or 12.7 percent, and manufacturing 278. Construction adds 85 on the LEHD tally, and transportation and warehousing 60.
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau records 55 construction establishments, so a contractor here retiring a dump or a stake truck is a familiar seller for us. Across Lucas County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 364 farms whose leading products are corn, soybeans and hogs; a grain truck or livestock hauler parked on one of them can be picked up from the farm lane.
