Gravel, stone and cement south of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Enon Sand & Gravel 5.9 miles south-east of New Carlisle and Barrett Paving Materials 6.1 miles due south. Dump trucks and tri-axles that load at pits like these often sit parked at the operation between jobs. If yours is out there, give us the gate address and a name at the scale house so the pickup can be arranged with whoever controls the yard.
Further out, a crushed-stone quarry near Huber Heights appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records 7.9 miles to the south-west, and the Fairborn Cement Plant sits 11.9 miles south on the same agency’s list. A mixer or bulk tanker that has run cement and aggregate along that line should come with its title, current registration and any service log you kept. Send photos of the drum or the tank, the frame and the cab along with those papers.
Clark County also holds 39 construction establishments, according to the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. Contractors who own a single dump truck or a lowboy tractor can sell it from the jobsite or the shop lot; tell us where it stands and whether a loaded trailer is still attached.
What the New Carlisle fleets carry
Sixty-eight active motor carriers are based in New Carlisle under FMCSA’s carrier census, and 41 of them list general freight among their cargo. FMCSA’s census shows 11 declaring machinery and large objects, another 11 declaring metal sheets, coils and rolls, and 10 hauling grain, feed or hay. Flatbed tractors, step-deck rigs and van tractors all fit what we purchase, so tell us which trailer the tractor normally pulled and whether that trailer goes with it.
Of those 68 carriers, FMCSA lists 29 as interstate operators and 39 as intrastate, while 24 run private fleets moving their own goods. If your truck was registered under an apportioned plate for interstate work, have the cab card and the title together; for an intrastate-only unit, the Ohio registration and the title are enough to start.
The federal carrier census records 345 power units and 348 drivers in the biggest New Carlisle fleet, 55 power units in the next, and 36 in the third. Owner-operators and fleets of every size are welcome here; a single tractor and a yard of thirty are handled the same way, one VIN at a time.
Near-home routes and the drivers who run far past Clark County
Drivers registered to New Carlisle carriers split two ways: FMCSA’s carrier census places 173 of them inside a 100-mile radius and 431 beyond it. A truck that runs out past Indianapolis or Columbus may be away from Clark County on the day you want to sell. Tell us where it will be parked next, even if that is a terminal in another state, and we work to that address.
Across the 26 local carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA, the median comes to 26,403 miles per truck each year. Write the current odometer reading down alongside the VIN when you first contact us; most of our opening questions start from those two figures.
New carrier registrations in town have been few: the FMCSA carrier census shows three new carriers in 2024 and one in 2025. If you started a small operation recently and are winding it down, the tractor can be sold while the operating authority is still open or after it is closed; bring the title and say which applies.
Roadside checks on Clark County tractors, per FMCSA records
Inspectors checked 252 trucks tied to New Carlisle carriers between August 29, 2024 and August 27, 2026, and FMCSA roadside inspection records give their median model year as 2023. Just 9.1 percent of those inspected units were ten or more model years old, per the same inspection records. Late-model sleepers and day cabs are squarely within what we take, and so are the older units in that share.
If your truck went through a roadside inspection, keep the inspection report with the rest of its paperwork. A clean copy of the latest annual inspection, the title and the registration give a clear record of the unit before photos are even sent.
Factory jobs, wholesale and Clark County farms
Manufacturing supplied 121 of New Carlisle’s 1,048 jobs in 2023, an 11.5 percent slice, on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Wholesale trade accounts for another 101 jobs, 9.6 percent of the total, in the Census Bureau’s LODES figures. Box trucks and straight trucks that make deliveries for plants and distributors here are part of what we collect, with or without the body on the back.
Clark County had 833 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and corn, soybeans and hogs led its farm products. Grain trucks, hopper-trailer tractors and livestock haulers often stay parked at the farm through the off-season. We come to the barn or the field lane; tell us whether the road in is gravel or paved and if the truck can be reached without moving other equipment.
Rail yards, fuel terminals and air bases nearby
Needmore, a rail yard 11.8 miles south-west of New Carlisle, shows up in the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. Further on, the Energy Information Administration lists a Dayton petroleum product terminal 12.9 miles south-west. A fuel tanker or a drayage tractor that works those sites can be collected from the yard where it parks, once we have the address and a contact who can let us through.
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base lies 8.9 miles south of New Carlisle, and Springfield Beckley sits 12.1 miles to the south-east, both on Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists of military installations. If your truck is stored on or near a base, check the access rules for civilian vehicles ahead of time and tell us; a pickup from a gated site goes smoothly when the paperwork for entry is ready.
Should the title be missing, Ohio’s state title agency issues duplicates, and the request can go in before we schedule the collection. Tell us at the outset that it is in progress so the rest of the sale can move alongside it.
The questions we get asked in New Carlisle
- My tri-axle sits at a pit toward Enon. Must I haul it up to the village myself before you come?Enon Sand & Gravel lies 5.9 miles south-east of town on Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and a truck parked at a pit like that is collected where it stands. Send the pit’s address and the name of whoever runs the scale house.
- Coil hauling was my work around New Carlisle. Is the tractor bought on its own, without the flatbed?Eleven New Carlisle carriers declare metal sheets, coils and rolls in FMCSA’s carrier census, and their tractors are bought with or without a trailer. Say which way you want to sell it when you send the VIN.
- The grain truck stays parked on our Clark County farm over winter. Will it be collected from the farm?Clark County’s 833 farms, counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, are mostly reached by farm lanes, and the truck is collected from the farm itself. Tell us how the lane is surfaced and where the truck is parked.
- Title, registration, inspection slips: what should a Clark County owner pull together?Ohio titles and registrations cover most New Carlisle trucks, and the title, the current registration and any recent annual inspection report are what to have on hand. If the title is lost, ask the state’s title agency for a duplicate and tell us it is on the way.
