East Franklin County’s motor carriers
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 344 active carriers with a Reynoldsburg address, and 271 of them list general freight among what they haul. If your truck pulled dry vans or flatbeds for one of those outfits, the title and current registration are the two papers to find first; photos of the cab, frame and tires come next.
Of those 344 carriers, 201 are cleared for interstate work and 143 stay inside Ohio, according to the same FMCSA census, which also lists 53 private fleets hauling their own goods. A private fleet truck is often titled to the business rather than a person, so have whoever signs for the company ready to sign the title at collection.
New registrations have picked up: FMCSA’s census shows 52 carriers starting in Reynoldsburg in 2025, against 32 in 2024. If you are one of the newer operators and the tractor is still financed, tell us the lender’s name at the start so the lien release is part of the plan.
Car haulers, reefers and meat trailers
Motor vehicles are the second cargo on the list, with 43 Reynoldsburg carriers naming them in FMCSA’s carrier census. A car hauler tractor sells with or without its trailer; say which you have and send a photo of the deck and ramps along with the VIN.
Refrigerated food and meat each appear on 38 carrier filings here, the FMCSA census shows. For a reefer unit, the hour meter reading and the unit’s make and model number are the details we ask about after the VIN, so photograph the unit’s plate before you call.
Fleet sizes stay modest: the three biggest Reynoldsburg carriers in FMCSA’s census run 60, 39 and 35 power units. Whether you are selling one tractor or several from a small fleet, list each VIN separately and note which trucks share a lot, so one trip can cover them.
Mileage, radius and model years
Among the 86 local carriers that report it to FMCSA, the median truck covers 31,283 miles a year. Read the odometer before you contact us and include that figure with the VIN, since it is the first number we record.
The carrier census from FMCSA lists 579 drivers working within 100 miles of base and 644 going further out. A truck that runs long routes may be parked at a terminal or a driver’s home rather than in Reynoldsburg, so give us the street address where it actually sits.
FMCSA roadside inspection records covering 323 trucks from Reynoldsburg carriers, checked between September 2024 and August 2026, put the median model year at 2018, with 34.98 percent of them ten or more years old. Whatever the model year on your title, it is the year we record, so make sure the title matches the VIN plate on the door.
Rail yards, terminals and the supply center
The Defense Supply Center Columbus lies 5.9 miles west of Reynoldsburg, per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. If your truck is parked on or near a secured site like that, name the gate or lot and the person who can let a driver in, so collection is arranged with them.
The North American Rail Network places the BANNON rail yard 8.7 miles west and the WATKINS ROAD yard 9.3 miles west. Drayage tractors working those yards can be collected where they sit; tell us the yard or nearby lot and whether the tractor is hooked to a chassis.
Two liquid bulk terminals appear in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings: Norfolk Southern TBT at 8.5 miles and Transflo CSXT at 10.4 miles, both west. For a tanker tractor that served either one, keep any site inspection or service records with the title, and tell us which trailers it pulled.
Quarries, gravel and building work
Mine Safety and Health Administration records list the Columbus Plant crushed-stone quarry 11.9 miles west and Columbus Limestone 13.1 miles west, with the Brookside Mine sand and gravel operation 12.4 miles north-east. Dump trucks and tri-axles hauling from those pits can be picked up at the quarry lot or your yard; photograph the bed and the hoist along with the cab.
Contractor trucks here come from a pool of 57 construction firms, set beside 18 warehousing firms in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns for Reynoldsburg. If the truck belongs to a contractor, have the business name on the title match the person signing, or bring the paperwork that shows who can sign for the company.
Census Bureau LEHD job counts for 2023 show 13,258 jobs in the city, including 311 in construction, 329 in manufacturing and 209 in transportation and warehousing. Box trucks and straight trucks from those employers qualify too; send the registration and a photo of the box or body.
Grain and nursery hauling in Franklin County
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 372 farms in Franklin County, with soybeans, corn and potted flowering plants leading the crops. A grain truck or nursery delivery truck that stays on the farm can be collected there; give us the farm address and a note about the lane in.
Farm trucks are sometimes registered with farm plates rather than commercial ones. Whatever plate it carries, the title is what transfers, so find it before collection; if it has gone missing, request a duplicate from Ohio’s title office first.
