Brittain and Hill, the two rail yards near Sawyerwood
Just 2.1 miles up the road from Sawyerwood, the Brittain yard is plotted on the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. A tractor that shuttles boxes or bulk loads between that yard and local docks can be collected right where it is parked, so give us the street address and say whether the lot is gated.
Hill is the second yard the North American Rail Network shows near town, 4.5 miles to the north-west. If your day cab works between Hill and Brittain, send a clear shot of the VIN plate, the door sticker and the odometer along with the cab and frame photos; those three details answer most of our first questions before anyone calls you.
Two racks, one town
Loading at Tallmadge or Akron, selling from Sawyerwood
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal at Tallmadge, 3.3 miles north-east of Sawyerwood, and another at Akron, 5.1 miles to the north-west. Owners of tractors or straight tank trucks that load at either rack can tell us which terminal the truck ran from and whether the tank or trailer is part of the sale.
Hazmat haulers usually keep inspection paperwork for the tank as well as the chassis. Put those sheets in one folder with the title, and add your current registration, so the pickup at your yard near Tallmadge or Akron needs only one visit and no return trip for a missing page.
Dump trucks for D & K Materials and Rootstown Sand & Gravel
East of town by 6.4 miles, D & K Materials, Inc. runs a sand and gravel operation that the Mine Safety and Health Administration records. Tri-axle dumps and end-dump tractors that haul from a pit like that are trucks we purchase, and we can arrange collection at the pit lot or wherever you keep the truck between jobs.
Rootstown Sand & Gravel, another site on the Mine Safety and Health Administration list, is 9 miles north-east toward Rootstown. When you write to us about a dump truck from that run, tell us the body type, the axle setup and whether the bed hoist is included, and attach photos of the body from both sides.
Green, Ohio
Titles here are handled by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles through its County Clerk of Courts title offices. For Sawyerwood owners the closest one is the Summit County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 3333 Massillon Rd Ste 105, Green, 44312, which the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles places 4.6 miles from town.
A duplicate title from that Massillon Road counter is the step to finish before we collect if the original has gone missing. Have the VIN on hand, and if a lender is still listed on the title, ask the lender for a lien release so the Green office can issue a clean replacement.
Sawyerwood’s neighbouring farms and their haulers
Beyond the town limits, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture still counts 413 farms in Summit County, with corn, soybeans and cattle the leading products. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and farm-plated straight trucks from those operations are on our list.
On a Summit County corn or cattle place, the truck may sit by a barn instead of on pavement. Tell us how a carrier reaches it, whether the ground is firm, and whether the grain body or stock rack comes with the chassis, so the collection plan fits the farm.
Around the shops
Small town, work trucks close by

Farther out, the NG Camp Ravenna Joint Military Training Center appears in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings 21.7 miles north-east of Sawyerwood. Wherever the truck sits between here and Ravenna, send the address, the title and a set of photos, and we will plan the pickup around the spot.
