Gravel pits flanking town to the north and south-west
Midvale Sand & Gravel is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration as a sand and gravel operation 3.5 miles north of Tuscarawas. A tri-axle or tandem dump that runs aggregate out of that pit is often parked at the yard between loads, so give us the gate address and the name of whoever can unlock it, and we can arrange the collection around the pit’s hours.
South-west of town, 5.3 miles out, the Mine Safety and Health Administration records a second sand and gravel site called Plant #2. If your dump body or end-dump trailer was used between these two pits, tell us which one it sits at now and send photos of the body, the hoist and the cab together so we see the whole unit at once.
Coal prep east and west
Coal loops from Tusky Prep east to Stonecreek west
Tusky Prep, a coal preparation plant, lies 5.4 miles east of town, and Stonecreek Mine, another preparation plant, lies 6.7 miles north-west, both on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list. Coal trucks that shuttle between a mine face and a prep plant work short loops; photograph the registration and any site inspection sheets kept in the cab before you contact us.
Farther out, MSHA records Kimble #1, a coal mine 9.8 miles north-west, and the Vail Mine, 14 miles to the south-east. A truck tied to either one may be sitting on mine property; let us know whether a site escort or a safety briefing is needed to reach it, and we will plan the visit with that in mind.
The Kimble quarry and mill to the north-west
About ten miles north-west, Kimble Clay, Limestone Quarry and Mill appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as a crushed-stone quarry. Rock trucks and lowboys that haul crushed limestone or clay from a mill yard usually carry heavy-spec axles, so note the axle setup and the gross weight rating on the door sticker when you send us details.
If the truck is still on the quarry floor rather than at your shop, a pin-dropped location on the mill property helps our driver find it. Along with that pin, send photos of the VIN plate and the front of the title.
A rail yard ten miles up the valley
Dover’s rail yard is recorded 10 miles north-west of Tuscarawas in the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs and flatbeds that shuttle freight to and from a rail siding can be collected at the yard lot as easily as at a home driveway in Tuscarawas.
Tell us where in Dover the tractor or trailer stands and whether it is coupled. If it has a trailer attached that you are keeping, say so, and we will bring what is needed to drop it where you want it left.
Milk, corn and cattle hauling around town
Tuscarawas County held 1,154 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, corn and cattle listed as its top products. Milk tankers, grain trucks and stock trailers from those farms are the farm equipment we see most often in this part of Ohio, and a truck kept in a barn lot can be collected right there.
For a farm truck, the title is the one document we cannot work without, and the registration card confirms the name on it. If the truck was bought decades ago and the paperwork is in a drawer somewhere, find it before you call; everything else we can sort out together.
Uhrichsville’s clerk handles a missing Tuscarawas title
Under the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, titles are handled by County Clerk of Courts title offices, and the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles lists the one serving this area as the Tuscarawas County Clerk of Courts Title Office at 206 E. Third Street, Uhrichsville, 44683, 2.8 miles from town by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles office search. A missing title gets replaced there, so start that errand before you list the truck with us.
For the trip down Third Street in Uhrichsville, carry a photo ID and the truck’s VIN written out. Ask the clerk’s staff what else they need for a duplicate, and keep the receipt they hand you with the truck’s other papers.
