Carr Sand Pit and Silver Creek dump work
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Carr Sand Pit Properties LLC, a sand and gravel operation, 3.6 miles south-east of Azle, with SILVER CREEK MAT INC another sand and gravel site 7.7 miles out in the same direction. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that load at pits like these are the kind we collect around Azle. If yours is parked at a pit, tell us which one and who can let us through the gate.
A truck that shuttles between a sand pit and job sites usually lives on a yard rather than a driveway. Send us the street address or the pit name, a photo of the VIN plate, and a few pictures of the bed and the cab, and we can plan the collection around where it sits.
Tanker racks and the Saginaw yard
East of town, the Energy Information Administration places the SAGINAW petroleum product terminal 10.2 miles from Azle, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists Quality Transload Inc, a liquid bulk terminal, 10.3 miles away. Tractors that pulled tankers out of those racks fit what we buy; keep any terminal loading records and tank inspection papers with the title.
Federal Railroad Administration and Bureau of Transportation Statistics mapping in the North American Rail Network puts the SAGINAW rail yard 11.2 miles due east of Azle, a short haul past the fuel racks. A second fuel terminal, FORT WORTH, is 12.3 miles south-east by the Energy Information Administration’s listing. If your tractor worked transload or rack runs there and now sits in Azle, we come to it in Azle; there is no need to move it toward Saginaw.
Azle’s general freight and lumber haulers
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 193 active carriers in Azle. In that same census, 109 haul general freight, 42 move machinery and large objects, and 24 each carry logs, poles, beams and lumber or motor vehicles. Lowboys, flatbeds, car haulers and dry vans all come out of that mix, and we take every one of those body types.
Most of these operations stay inside Texas: the same FMCSA census lists 140 intrastate carriers against 52 that run interstate, and 72 that are private fleets hauling their own goods. For an intrastate truck, have the Texas registration and the title together; for a private fleet unit, tell us who in the company signs for it.
New registrations picked up recently, with FMCSA recording 21 new Azle carriers in 2025 after 7 in 2024. If you started a carrier in the last two years and are now selling a tractor or trailer, the title and the bill of sale from when you bought it are the two papers to find first.
Owner-operators and bigger yards
Not every Azle operation is a one-truck outfit. In the FMCSA carrier census, one fleet here runs 95 power units with 226 drivers, another 56 units with 101 drivers, and a third 33 units with 100 drivers. If you manage a yard that size and are retiring several units, send the list of VINs at once and we will schedule them together.
Of the 53 Azle carriers reporting annual mileage to FMCSA, the median truck covers 40,000 miles a year. The census also shows 237 drivers working within 100 miles of base and 587 driving beyond it. Note the odometer reading when you send photos, and say whether the truck ran local or long routes.
Plant, crew and ranch trucks
According to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023, Azle has 3,953 jobs, with 418 in manufacturing, 207 in construction and 107 in wholesale trade. Box trucks, flatbeds and service bodies that support those shops and job sites are trucks we pick up, from a contractor’s yard or a plant lot.
Tarrant County has 1,000 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, led by cattle, equine and wheat. Livestock haulers, grain trucks and ranch flatbeds parked on rural property around Azle can be collected where they stand; give us the gate code or a phone number for whoever is on the land.
Clear spans for a lowboy pickup
Of Azle’s 23 bridges, not one is load-posted or lower than 14 feet, going by the Federal Highway Administration’s National Bridge Inventory. A tow rig or lowboy coming for a heavy tractor has no posted bridge or low span to route around inside town.
Military sites sit south-east of Azle as well: the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places NG Fort Worth - Shoreview 9.4 miles away and Air Force Plant 4 at 9.9 miles. If your truck is stored near either, tell us whether access needs an escort or a pass so the pickup is arranged with the right people.
The questions we get asked in Azle
- Our end-dump stays at a pit off the south-east side of Azle; will you load it from the pit?Carr Sand Pit Properties LLC is 3.6 miles south-east of Azle by the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, and pits like it are where we pick dump trucks up. Tell us the pit name and who controls the gate.
- I ran a tanker out of Saginaw but live in Azle now; does the tractor have to be in town for pickup? The SAGINAW petroleum terminal is 10.2 miles east of Azle on the Energy Information Administration’s list, and we collect from wherever the tractor sits, in Azle or at the terminal. Give us the address and any tank inspection records.
- Do you buy trucks from a private fleet that hauls its own goods?Azle’s 193 active carriers include 72 private fleets hauling their own goods, per FMCSA’s carrier census, and a company truck from one of those sells to us the same way an owner-operator’s does. Have the person who signs for company vehicles send the title and the VINs.
