IMAGE MATERIALS and Top-Way
Sand and gravel a few miles south-east of Boyd
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists IMAGE MATERIALS, a sand and gravel operation, just 2.8 miles south-east of Boyd, with Top-Way Materials, LLC at 5.5 miles in the same direction. If your dump truck or end-dump trailer has been running loads out of either pit, it may be parked at the pit itself or at a yard between there and town. Tell us which, and give us a name to call so the gate can be opened on collection day.
North-west of Boyd, Bridgeport Stone Plant and Chico Quarry both sit 14.1 miles out on Mine Safety and Health Administration listings, each a crushed-stone quarry. A tractor that has pulled rock from those two sites can be collected where it last worked. Along with the VIN plate, send photos of both sides of the cab, the frame and the bed.
Boyd tractors on the Alliance ramp run
Thirteen and a half miles east, the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the ALLIANCE rail yard; the Bureau of Transportation Statistics separately lists the Alliance, TX intermodal ramp at 13.8 miles. Day cabs that shuttle containers between that ramp and Boyd-area customers fit what we buy. Have the registration and any service records together before you contact us, so the conversation starts with the truck itself.
If you live in Boyd but the tractor is sitting near the Alliance ramp, it can stay there. Give us the street address, say whether it is inside a fenced lot, and tell us who holds the keys; the collection is planned around where the truck actually is.
Tank tractors loading south-east of Boyd
Down the road from Boyd toward Saginaw, the Energy Information Administration places the SAGINAW petroleum product terminal at 18.7 miles. A tenth of a mile further, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Quality Transload Inc, a liquid bulk terminal. Tractors that pull tank trailers out of those two sites can be sold from Boyd or from wherever they are parked along that road.
For a tank tractor, tell us which terminal it loaded at and whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays with you. Photograph the tractor and the trailer separately, each with its own plate showing, so the paperwork for each matches what we see.
Ninety-seven active carriers give a Boyd address in FMCSA’s carrier census, and 81 of them run intrastate only, against 16 that cross state lines. The same FMCSA listing marks 39 Boyd carriers as private fleets moving their own loads for a business. If your truck worked inside Texas alone, the Texas registration and title are all we need to see; an interstate truck should also have its apportioned plate paperwork on hand.
By cargo, FMCSA’s carrier census counts 47 Boyd carriers on general freight, 25 on machinery and large objects, 15 on metal sheets, coils and rolls, and 12 on logs, poles, beams and lumber. Flatbeds, step decks and lowboys all fit that mix. Tell us the body or trailer type up front, and send a photo of the deck with any winches, chains or ramps that go with it.
Fleet sizes vary widely on FMCSA’s carrier census: one Boyd fleet runs 38 power units with 38 drivers, another 11 units with 7 drivers, a third 8 units with 4 drivers. If you are selling several trucks from one yard, list the VINs together and we will plan one visit for all of them.
Odometer and start-ups
Boyd mileage and newer operations
Among 21 Boyd carriers reporting mileage, FMCSA’s carrier census shows a median of 39,186 miles per truck in a year. Have the current odometer reading ready when you reach out; with the VIN, it answers most of the first questions about the truck.
FMCSA’s carrier census records Boyd gaining seven carrier registrations in 2025, after five the year before. If your operation is one of those and you are now selling a truck you bought for it, keep the purchase paperwork with the title so the ownership chain is clear.
Construction jobs and Wise County cattle
Construction accounts for 285 of the 1,001 jobs located in Boyd for 2023, a 28.5 percent share by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, and manufacturing for 120, or 12 percent. Dump trucks, water trucks and equipment haulers serving those job sites can be collected at the site or at the contractor’s yard in town.
Across Wise County, cattle head the list for its 3,528 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, followed by deer and foliage plants. A livestock hauler or a farm truck kept on a ranch outside Boyd is collected where it sits; tell us the ranch road and whether the gate is locked.
Decatur’s tax office for a missing Boyd title
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles issues titles through county tax assessor-collector offices, and the one for Boyd is the Wise County Tax Office at 404 W Walnut, Decatur, 76234, about 10.5 miles from town. If the title is missing, that is where a certified copy is requested, and the request can go in before you contact us.
Boyd’s roads are clear of load limits: the National Bridge Inventory lists 20 bridges in the area, none load-posted and none under fourteen-foot clearance. Tell us the yard address in town and a tractor and lowboy can head straight there.
