Pits off the road south
BASTROP PLANT and Bastrop Sand Supply haul roads
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists BASTROP PLANT, a sand and gravel operation, 4.7 miles south-west of Camp Swift, with Bastrop Sand Supply 6.3 miles out in the same direction. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that hauls from those pits may sit parked near a loading area between runs. Give us the gate or yard address and the name of whoever can let us in, and we can collect it from there.
If your truck has worked aggregate loads out of either pit, gather the title and current registration before you call. Photos of the bed, the tailgate, the cab and the VIN plate tell us which body the truck carries, so the questions that follow are about the paperwork rather than about what the unit is.
Tankers between the two Flint Hills terminals
Records from the Energy Information Administration place a petroleum product terminal, FLINT HILLS RESOURCES LP-BASTROP, 9.3 miles south-west of town, and a second one, FLINT HILLS RESOURCES LP- AUSTIN, 22.1 miles west. Tractors that pull fuel tank trailers to and from those two sites are trucks we buy, whether the tractor alone or the tractor with its tanker.
When a tank trailer is part of the sale, say so up front and send photos of the trailer’s plate as well as the tractor’s. Any inspection or service records kept for the tanker belong in the same folder as the tractor’s title, so both units are covered when we arrange the pickup.
Smithville yard and two Guard installations
On the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the SMITHVILLE rail yard lies 15.2 miles south-east of Camp Swift. A day cab that has shuttled freight to that yard can be parked near Smithville when you sell it; tell us the street or lot and we plan the collection around that spot.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists NG Camp Swift 5.1 miles north and NG Bergstrom - (Abia) 22.6 miles west, both military installations. If your truck is stored somewhere with controlled access, let us know before pickup day who signs visitors in, so the driver we send is expected at the gate.
Building-trade work in and around Camp Swift’s town limits
Of the 268 jobs located in Camp Swift in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) put 59 in construction, a 22 percent share. Flatbeds, dump bodies and service trucks that move between building sites around town are part of what we purchase from owners here.
Contractors count for 96 construction establishments in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tally covering Camp Swift. If your work truck belongs to a small contracting outfit, have the person named on the title ready to sign, and bring the registration for any trailer you want included in the same sale.
Stock trucks on Bastrop County cattle and horse ground
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,871 farms in Bastrop County, with cattle, equine and milk listed as the leading products. Livestock haulers, horse haulers and stock trucks may sit on a ranch between seasons, and we can pick one up from a pasture gate or a barn lot.
For a truck kept on rural land, a pin or a set of directions from the nearest county road saves the collecting driver a search. Photograph the truck where it stands, include the odometer and the VIN, and note whether a trailer is coming along with it.
What roadside inspectors logged near Camp Swift
FMCSA roadside inspection records from 2024-08-28 to 2026-08-23 cover 103 trucks inspected around here, with a median model year of 2014. Among those 103 Camp Swift stops, FMCSA roadside inspection records put 55.34 percent of the trucks at a decade old or older.
Whatever the model year on your title, we take trucks of every year range. Have the title, registration and any inspection reports to hand, and tell us the year, make and model when you get in touch so the first conversation starts from the facts on the paperwork.
