Dry vans, private fleets and new authorities
Crowley addresses account for 343 active carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, with general freight declared by 215 of that group. If your truck is a dry van tractor or a box truck from one of those outfits, send the VIN, a photo of the title and a few pictures of the cab and the sides, and we can start from there.
Of those 343, the federal census shows 250 registered for intrastate hauling only, 92 crossing state lines and 57 running private fleets that carry their own goods. A private fleet unit sold from a Crowley yard usually comes with the company’s own service log; put a copy with the title so the paperwork travels with the tractor.
New authorities jumped in 2025: FMCSA records 38 Crowley carriers registered that year, against 11 in 2024. An owner-operator who started recently and is now selling should have the registration card and the original title in the name on the authority, which keeps the transfer simple.
Steel and lumber
Flatbeds for coil, lumber and bulk
Beyond general freight, the carrier census counts 33 Crowley carriers hauling metal sheets, coils and rolls, 31 carrying logs, poles, beams and lumber, and 28 moving dry bulk commodities. Flatbed and step-deck tractors fit the first two groups, and hopper or end-dump rigs the third; tell us which body or trailer the truck pulls when you first get in touch.
If the tractor and its flatbed are sold together, photograph the deck, the tie-downs and the trailer’s own plate and VIN as well as the cab. Separate titles for tractor and trailer are normal in Texas, so have both on hand before collection.
Gravel to the east, rail yards to the north
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Portable #1, a sand and gravel operation 9.8 miles east of Crowley, and Alvarado Sand and Gravel, 11.3 miles to the south-east. Dump trucks and dry bulk units that cycle between those pits and job sites can be picked up at a pit lot as easily as at your home; give us the gate contact and the hours it is open.
North of town, the North American Rail Network shows Logging Yard at 9.3 miles and 8th Avenue at 9.7 miles. A day cab that has worked drayage around those two yards can stay parked where it is; we just need the street address and a note on who holds the keys.
Liquid loads have their own stops nearby. Carry Transit, a liquid bulk terminal, sits 12.5 miles south-west by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ listing, while the Energy Information Administration places a petroleum product terminal 14.7 miles north. For a tank tractor, include any terminal access or inspection paperwork you kept along with the title.
Short radius, long lanes, one pickup
Among Crowley carriers that report it, FMCSA’s carrier census tallies 282 drivers working within 100 miles and 402 who go farther out. Whichever kind of route your truck ran, tell us where it is parked today; a long-haul sleeper can be collected at a terminal away from Crowley just as well.
The median reported by 82 local carriers in the federal census is 50,000 miles per truck a year. Have the current odometer reading written down along with the VIN; those two numbers answer most of our first questions.
Fleet sizes in the census run from small to mid-sized: the three biggest Crowley operations list 86, 18 and 14 power units, with 81, 19 and 14 drivers. Selling several units at once from one yard works the same way as one; list each VIN and title so every truck is matched to its paperwork.
Construction, ranches and the air base
Of the 5,506 jobs located in Crowley in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 497 in construction, about 9 percent, with 112 in transportation and warehousing and 108 in manufacturing. A contractor’s dump truck, water truck or flatbed is a truck we collect from the job site or the shop yard.
Across Tarrant County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture records 1,000 farms, with cattle, equine and wheat as the leading products. Livestock haulers, horse-trailer tractors and grain trucks parked on a ranch outside Crowley can be picked up there; send directions if the gate is off a county road.
Two military installations sit north of town on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics map: a naval air station joint reserve base at 14 miles and Air Force Plant 4 at 14.6 miles to the north-west. If your truck is parked near either, tell us in advance so pickup can be planned around base access rules.
