The pits south and west of Eagle Lake
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Garwood sand and gravel operation 1.3 miles south of town and the Duncan Plant, an industrial-mineral mine, 4.6 miles south. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that works those pits is often parked near the scale house or the loading area, so tell us which site it sits at and who can let us through the gate.
West of Eagle Lake, the 4L Ranch sand and gravel operation lies 7.4 miles out and the Smith Plant crushed-stone quarry 10.7 miles out, both on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, with the Sand Express mineral processing plant 13.6 miles to the north-west. If your aggregate hauler is kept at one of those yards rather than at home, give us that address and a contact name, and send photos of the bed, the frame and the cab.
Sidings and ramps
Eagle Lake Storage, a rail yard on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, lies 1.7 miles north-west of town, and the Sealy yard is 16.8 miles north-east. A tractor that shuttles loads to and from those sidings can be collected right where it is parked; give us the yard or lot address with the VIN.
For container work, the Kendleton intermodal ramp listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics is 22.7 miles east of Eagle Lake. If your day cab pulls chassis off that ramp and stays near Kendleton between loads, leave it there; tell us the location and the hours it is parked.
