Stock trailers and feed
Pasture gates where we load ranch haulers
Around Goliad, the 2022 Census of Agriculture from USDA counts 1,092 farms across the county, with cattle, corn and horses at the top of the list. A ranch truck that pulls a stock trailer or hauls feed out to pasture usually sits at the barn or in the field when it is not working, and that gate is where we collect it.
Goliad’s farm country shows up in the carrier census as well: FMCSA lists 13 local carriers hauling farm supplies and another 13 hauling grain, feed and hay. If your tractor or straight truck moved bales or bagged feed, send a photo of the bed or the hitch along with the VIN, and tell us which ranch road it is parked off.
Pit run and sand
Quarry lots on both sides of Goliad
West of Goliad, the Mine Safety and Health Administration places two crushed-stone quarries close together: Tuleta Pit at 23.8 miles and Ray Pit at 24.7 miles. Dump trucks and end-dumps that run rock out of those quarries can be picked up at a pit lot as easily as at a house, so give us the site name and who to call at the gate.
The Kyle Plant, a sand and gravel operation that MSHA records 23.4 miles to the north-east, sits on the opposite side of town from the two pits. A truck that splits its days between the two directions might be parked at either end; tell us which one it will be on the day you want it gone, plus the plate and registration card.
Carriers whose wheels rarely leave Texas
Thirty active carriers are based in Goliad according to FMCSA’s carrier census, and 27 of them run intrastate only, against 3 that cross state lines. For a Texas-only truck, the registration and the Texas title are usually the whole stack of paper we need, so have both within reach before you call.
Private fleets account for 16 of those Goliad carriers on FMCSA’s census, which means many trucks here haul a business’s own goods rather than freight for hire. A farm or construction outfit selling its own hauler can send the title in the business name together with a note from whoever signs for the company.
Lowboy loads bound for ranches and builders
Fifteen Goliad carriers list general freight in the FMCSA census, and 14 list machinery and large objects, close behind. Lowboys and step-decks that move tractors, balers or dozers between ranches and job sites are among the trucks we buy; photograph the deck, the ramps and the cab so we can see the whole rig.
County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau records 13 construction establishments in the county, and those firms are where much of that machinery ends up. If your truck spent its time at a building site, the yard address and a contact name are the two things that let us set up collection.
Rigs per outfit
One-truck owners beside a single bigger yard
On FMCSA’s census, the top Goliad fleet runs 21 power units with 5 drivers, the next has 3 trucks and 3 drivers, and the third has 2 of each. Whether you are selling one tractor or several from a yard, list each unit with its VIN so we can arrange them as one collection.
Only five Goliad carriers file mileage with FMCSA, and the middle of their figures sits at 7,900 miles for each truck over a year. Read the odometer before you contact us and include it with the photos; it is one of the first lines we ask for.
Paperwork help on West Franklin, steps from downtown
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles handles titles through county tax assessor-collector offices, and Goliad’s is the Goliad County Tax Office at 329 West Franklin, Goliad 77963, which the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles places about 0.3 miles from the town centre. A missing title can be replaced there, so start that request before you list the truck with us.
Bring your ID and whatever proof of ownership you hold to West Franklin; the clerk there can tell you which TxDMV form fits a commercial truck. Once the replacement title is in hand, send us a photo of the front and back so the sale can move ahead.
Airfield road
Work, start-ups and the military airfield west
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 place 763 jobs in Goliad, and FMCSA’s records add 3 new carriers registered in 2025 after a single one in 2024. If you are winding down a small operation started in those years, keep the operating authority paperwork together with the title.
NALF Goliad, a military airfield the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists 13.9 miles west of town, sits out along the same direction as the pits. Trucks parked on ranch land past the airfield are no harder for us to reach; a pinned map location saves time for the driver we send.
