A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has hauled aggregate out of that pit can be collected from your driveway, a yard off the highway or the quarry’s own parking area; tell us which one and who holds the key.
Beckmann Quarry is 5.5 miles west, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records. If your truck splits its week between San Pedro and Beckmann, write down both sites when you contact us, along with the VIN, so the first call covers where the truck has been loading and where it sits today.
Up toward Bulverde, Smithson Valley Quarry is a sand and gravel operation 10.4 miles north-east, as the Mine Safety and Health Administration records it. Owners who park a gravel truck out there rather than in town only need to send an address and a few clear photos of the cab, frame and bed.
Cement plants
Mixers serving the cement plants east of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Capitol Cement Plant & Quarry 5.4 miles south-east, and the same agency places 1604 QUARRY & PLANT 6.8 miles east. Ready-mix trucks and bulk pneumatic tankers that load at either one are on the list of what we purchase.
With a mixer, gather the title, current registration and any service log you kept for the drum and its motor. Send photos of the drum, the chute and the cab together, taken wherever the mixer is parked between pours.
A fuel tanker tractor based near that terminal can stay where it is parked; give us the gate contact and the trailer details if the tank is part of the sale.
Nearly ten miles south-east, at 9.9 miles, the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places SAN ANTONIO TOFC, a trailer-on-flatcar rail yard. Day cabs that dray trailers between that yard and north-side warehouses are trucks we buy; have the title and the latest annual inspection report on hand when we talk.
Joint Base San Antonio and local work
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics locates Joint Base San Antonio, a military installation, 2.7 miles west of town. Contractors whose box trucks or flatbeds make deliveries on base can arrange collection off the installation, at a home or a yard in Hollywood Park, so nobody has to sort out gate access for us.
Whether your truck is part of one of those jobs or a household vehicle kept in a Hollywood Park driveway, find the title, the registration card and the spare keys before you reach out.
Bexar County cattle, horses and corn
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 2,107 farms in Bexar County, with cattle, equine and corn at the top of its list. Livestock haulers, horse-trailer pickups and grain trucks from those operations are trucks we collect from the farm itself.
On a ranch, tell us which gate to use and whether the truck sits on a paved pad or in a pasture. A photo of the VIN plate and one of the odometer, taken where the truck stands, answer most of the questions we would otherwise ask by phone.
