Two petroleum terminals off the west side
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal named El Paso about 3 miles west of Homestead Meadows South, and a second terminal under the same name roughly 5.7 miles west. A tractor that has pulled fuel tankers from either gate is one we purchase, and so is the trailer if you own it outright.
Before you call about a tanker unit, find the title for the tractor and, separately, any title for the trailer, since the two are often registered apart. Any hazmat or tank inspection reports you kept from terminal work help us see where the unit has been.
If the truck is parked near the terminals rather than at your house, give us that yard’s address and the name of whoever holds the gate key; pickup is planned around where the truck actually sits.
Quarries a few miles from home
According to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, the Ned Finney Quarry, a crushed-stone site, lies about 3.2 miles east, and Hueco Quarry Inc works crushed stone about 3.5 miles to the north-east. End dumps, belly dumps and tri-axle dump trucks hauling aggregate out of those two pits all fit what we take.
For a dump truck, photograph the bed raised and lowered, the hoist, the tailgate and the data plate on the door jamb. Add the VIN and the odometer reading in your first message and we can start with the right questions.
A truck still parked at a quarry yard does not have to come into town. Tell us whether we need a site escort or a hard hat to reach it, and we arrange the visit around the quarry’s rules.
Sand and dimension stone
Sand plants and cut-stone yards further out
Sun City Rock, Inc., a sand and gravel operation, appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records about 5.7 miles north-east, while the East Loop 375 Sand Plt is listed roughly 6.6 miles south-west. Water trucks and gravel tractors that shuttle between those plants and job sites are trucks we buy.
To the south-west, at about 7.7 miles, Mine Safety and Health Administration files place two dimension-stone quarries, Soto’s Rock and JDF Materials LLC. Flatbeds and boom trucks that move cut slabs off those yards belong on the same list, and a photo of the deck and any crane controls tells us what the truck carries.
If one truck has worked several of these plants, list them in order. That history, with the registration and title, is what we read first.
Title, registration and photos for an east-side truck
The title in your name is the first document we ask for. If it has gone missing, request a replacement from the state’s title agency before pickup, and tell us it is on the way so we can plan around it.
Next come the current registration, any service invoices you saved and four or five clear photos: both sides, the cab interior, the dash with the odometer showing, and the VIN plate. A lienholder’s name and contact, if there is one, saves a later phone call.
Cotton fields, cattle and hives in the county around you
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 581 farms in El Paso County and names cotton, cattle and honey as its top products. Grain and cotton trucks, livestock haulers and the flatbeds that carry hives or bales between fields are all trucks we will look at.
Farm trucks are often registered under a ranch or family name rather than a person’s. Check whose name is printed on the title, and if it is a business, have the signer’s authority ready when we arrive.
Contractor and service trucks from local employers
Employers inside Homestead Meadows South, east of the El Paso terminals, accounted for 339 jobs in 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. A box truck, service body or small dump owned by a local contractor here is as welcome as a road tractor.
For a work truck with tools or racks bolted on, tell us what stays with the truck and what you plan to remove, so the photos you send match what we collect.
The questions we get asked in Homestead Meadows South
- Will you collect a truck parked at a quarry east of Homestead Meadows South? The Ned Finney and Hueco quarries, which the Mine Safety and Health Administration places about 3.2 and 3.5 miles out, are the kind of site we collect from; send the yard address and any access rules.
- Do you buy fuel tanker tractors from the El Paso terminals?Tractors that served the two El Paso petroleum product terminals listed by the Energy Information Administration west of town are trucks we purchase; bring titles for both tractor and trailer.
- My cotton truck is titled to the family farm, so who signs when you collect it?Cotton is the top crop among the 581 El Paso County farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and a farm-titled truck sells like any other once the person authorised to sign for the farm is present with the title.
