Texas-only authority
Intrastate trucks registered in Hutto
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 480 active motor carriers based in Hutto, and 403 of them are registered for intrastate work against 77 for interstate. If your authority covers Texas only, the cab card and registration you already keep in the truck are the papers we look at first, so pull them out before you call.
Of those 480 Hutto carriers, 80 run as private fleets, hauling their own company’s goods, according to the same FMCSA census. A private-fleet tractor or straight truck is often titled to the business rather than a person, so check whose name is on the title and who in the company can sign it.
Hutto’s registered outfits list 617 drivers working within 100 miles and 415 driving beyond that radius, per FMCSA. A truck on a long route may be parked in another state when you decide to sell; tell us the city where it sits and we arrange collection there.
Flatbeds, lowboys and dry vans out of Hutto
General freight is the cargo class for 307 Hutto carriers in FMCSA’s census, which points to dry vans, box trucks and the tractors that pull them. Photograph the van interior, the doors and the VIN plate along with the cab, and keep the trailer title separate if the trailer is part of the sale.
Machinery and large objects appear on 52 carrier filings, metal sheets, coils and rolls on 45, and logs, poles, beams and lumber on 44, all from FMCSA’s census for Hutto. Those are flatbed, step-deck and lowboy loads; send pictures of the deck, the winches or straps and the tie-down rails so we know the setup.
The three fleets with the most equipment in Hutto hold 45, 38 and 32 power units, the FMCSA census records. If you are selling several units from a fleet that size, a spreadsheet of VINs, unit numbers and yard locations lets us plan each pickup without a phone call per truck.
Taylor’s terminals and rail yard, east of town
The Energy Information Administration lists two petroleum product terminals at Taylor, one 6.1 miles and the other 6.3 miles north-east of Hutto. Fuel haulers who load there should have tank inspection and hazmat paperwork in the cab, and those records belong with the truck when we collect it.
A rail yard at Taylor, 7.7 miles east, is recorded by the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A day cab that shuttles freight off that yard can be collected from the yard lot itself; give us the gate contact and the hours the lot is open.
Quarry work west toward Georgetown
Georgetown Qy & Plt lies 11.3 miles west and WEIR PLANT 11.6 miles west, both crushed-stone quarries on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors from those sites are part of what we purchase; note the body make and the hoist on the listing so it is clear what comes with the chassis.
Sand and gravel comes from True Materials, 13.2 miles north-east, and North Austin Quarry, 15.5 miles north-west, with a dimension-stone quarry called Rock Quarry 15.2 miles west, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. If your truck stays parked on a quarry site, tell us whose ground it is on so the collection can be cleared with the site office.
Builders and plants on the Hutto payroll
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 put 566 of Hutto’s 4,050 jobs in construction, or 14 percent, and 536 in manufacturing, or 13.2 percent. Contractors here run mixers, dump trucks, flatbeds and service bodies; if the truck carries tools or a toolbox you want to keep, empty it before the pickup date.
Williamson County builders show up in County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau, which tallies 144 construction establishments around Hutto. A truck owned by one of those businesses usually needs a signed title from the company’s officer plus a lien release if it was financed, so have both ready when you contact us.
Transportation and warehousing accounts for 116 jobs, or 2.9 percent of the total, in the Census Bureau’s LEHD counts for Hutto. A small sector can still mean box trucks and yard tractors parked behind a business; we come to that address rather than asking you to move the truck.
Inspection years and annual miles for Hutto rigs
FMCSA roadside inspection records from 2024-09-05 to 2026-08-26 cover 504 Hutto trucks, with a median model year of 2014 and 60.9 percent of them ten or more years old. Whatever the year of yours, have the VIN, the odometer reading and the engine make written down before you contact us.
For the 140 Hutto carriers that report mileage to FMCSA, the median is 50,000 miles a truck each year. Keep the most recent annual mileage figure from your logs handy, along with any service records, since both go with the truck.
New authority and farms
Fresh USDOT numbers, corn and cattle
Hutto added 45 freshly registered carriers in 2024 and another 52 in 2025, going by FMCSA’s census. If your authority is new and you are selling the truck it was opened with, keep your USDOT number and the title in the same folder so the paperwork lines up.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 2,352 farms in Williamson County, with corn, cattle and deer at the top of the list. Grain trucks and livestock haulers from those farms can be collected at the farm gate; send a pin or directions if the truck sits off a county road.
