Fuel at the bay
Fuel hauls from the Laguna Madre shore
Port Isabel’s petroleum product terminal, 5.9 miles south-east of Laguna Vista, is on the Energy Information Administration’s terminal list. A tank truck or tractor that loads there is likely parked near the bay road or back at a yard in town when we come for it, so give us the street address and say how a trailer can turn in.
Just beyond it, a liquid bulk terminal called Pilot appears 6.1 miles south-east of town in Bureau of Transportation Statistics records. If your tractor has pulled bulk liquid trailers out of either site, tell us which one and send photos of the cab, the frame and the fifth wheel along with the VIN.
Ship channel cargo
Cargo from the Port of Brownsville
Southwest along the ship channel, the port at Brownsville is 9.4 miles from Laguna Vista according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle loads off those docks often finish the week at a terminal lot rather than at home, and we collect from either one, so name the lot and who holds the gate key.
Valero’s liquid bulk terminal, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places 10.9 miles to the south-west, and the Brownsville petroleum product terminal that the Energy Information Administration puts at 10.6 miles, sit on that same side of the bay. Keep the registration card and any loading-site paperwork in the cab for a tractor that served them; those papers tell us where the truck has worked.
Drayage between Brownsville’s yards and docks
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows the Brownsville Palo Alto yard 12.1 miles south-west and the Port of Brownsville yard at 12.6 miles. Drayage tractors working between those rails and the docks rack up short, frequent trips; have the odometer reading ready when you call.
An intermodal ramp listed simply as Terminal lies 12.8 miles to the south-west in Bureau of Transportation Statistics records. If a container chassis goes with the sale, tell us at the start and include its plate and photos, so the tractor and chassis can be handled together at pickup.
Delta fields
Harvest trucks on Cameron County’s cotton ground
Cameron County counted 1,248 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cotton, sorghum and corn as its top crops. Grain trucks, module haulers and farm tractor-trailers from those operations tend to sit on the farm between harvests, so a pin drop or field-gate directions saves the driver a search.
Those same USDA figures cover the whole county, from Laguna Vista inland. If the truck is registered to a farm entity rather than to you, have the title in hand with the name that appears on it, and a signed letter from the owner if someone else is handling the sale.
A Laguna Vista seller’s title and photo file
A clean title in the seller’s name is the one document every sale here needs. If it has been lost, request a replacement from the state’s title agency before the truck is collected, and tell us when you have applied so we can plan around it.
Service records, the registration card and a set of daylight photos round out the file. Shoot all four sides, the dash with the odometer showing, and the VIN plate on the door jamb, then send them with the truck’s location in Laguna Vista or wherever it is parked in Cameron County.
