Kilns under seven miles
Stone and cement within seven miles west
BRAUNTEX MATERIALS, INC., a crushed-stone quarry 5.6 miles west of Lake Dunlap, appears in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s mine listings, and the New Braunfels Plant quarry sits just beyond it at 5.9 miles. If your dump truck or end-dump tractor hauls rock out of either gate, tell us which one when you get in touch, along with the VIN and a few photos of the bed and cab.
Records kept by the Mine Safety and Health Administration put the Balcones Plant, a cement plant, 6.2 miles west of town. Bulk cement tankers and ready-mix trucks loading there often park at a yard rather than at home, so give us the yard address and a contact who can open the gate on collection day.
Solms pit lots
Solms and the pits along the Hill Country edge
Seven and a half miles out, at 7.6 miles west, the Solms Operation is a sand and gravel operation in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records; farther along the same bearing, Smithson Valley Quarry works sand and gravel at 19.5 miles. A tandem or tri-axle dump from either site can be collected at the pit lot or your shop, whichever is easier for you to arrange.
Have the registration receipt and any service invoices in the cab before we arrive. If the truck carries a pit sticker or site permit, a photo of that helps us match it to the right operation.
Past the twenty-mile mark
Kilns, clay and dimension stone beyond twenty miles
Among the sites the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists, the 1604 QUARRY & PLANT cement plant lies 17.9 miles west, Ecleto Creek Mine, an industrial-mineral mine, sits 21.9 miles south-east, and ROX, Inc. cuts dimension stone 22.5 miles north-west. Trucks based at those sites may never pass through Lake Dunlap at all, and that is fine: we pick up wherever the truck is parked.
Flatbeds that carry cut stone slabs and dump trucks serving the south-east mine both qualify. Send the make, model year and a clear photo of the data plate so we can confirm the configuration before we schedule anything.
Court Street in Seguin for a missing certificate
A missing certificate of title is handled through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, and for this area its local point is the Guadalupe County Tax Office at 307 W. Court, Ste 102, Seguin, 78155, about 9.5 miles from town according to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles’ county office directory. That office is one of the county tax assessor-collector offices the department uses for title work.
Bring photo ID and the VIN to the Seguin counter and ask for a certified copy of the title. If a lender is still shown on the title, bring the lien release too, so the copy issues clean and the sale can close with it.
Cattle, corn and goats around the lake
Guadalupe County counted 2,369 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle, corn and goats as its top products. Around Lake Dunlap that shows up as cattle pots, grain trucks and stock trailers parked behind barns and in pasture lots.
A grain truck or livestock hauler parked on a ranch road is fine for us to reach; just tell us whether the gate is locked, whether the ground is firm enough for a tow rig, and who will be there to hand over the keys and title.
