Eighteen small Lantana operators on the federal register
Eighteen trucking operators headquartered in Lantana remain active in FMCSA’s carrier census. If yours is one of them, have the title, the current Texas registration and the USDOT number to hand when you first get in touch, so the tractor can be matched to its record from the start.
Two carriers in town run 4 power units and 4 drivers apiece, and a third runs 3 of each, according to the federal safety agency FMCSA’s census. An owner of a fleet that size can list every unit in one message: VIN, make, model year and where each one is parked, whether that is a driveway in Lantana or a lot down in Denton County.
Of those 18 carriers, 7 are authorized for interstate work and 11 stay inside Texas, with 3 running as private fleets hauling their own goods, in the federal motor carrier census. A truck that has only ever worked intrastate is still something we collect; tell us which kind of authority it ran under and keep the registration with it.
General freight, produce and beverage loads out of Lantana
General freight is the cargo listed by 12 of the town’s carriers in FMCSA’s census, while 2 list fresh produce, 1 lists beverages and 1 lists refrigerated food. A dry van tractor, a reefer unit or a beverage body can all be collected, so say what the truck pulled and send photos of the cab, the frame, the tires and the trailer coupling.
For a reefer that hauled produce or refrigerated food, keep the unit’s service records alongside the title. Those sheets let us see the cooling unit’s history without guessing, and they travel with the truck when it leaves Lantana.
Newer outfits show up too: the federal carrier census records 4 new Lantana carriers registered in 2025 and 2 in 2024. If you started hauling recently and are now winding down, the paperwork list is the same as for an older fleet, title, registration and any inspection reports.
Sand and gravel sites north and north-east of town
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Denton Pits industrial-mineral mine 6.5 miles north of Lantana. A dump truck or end-dump that has worked that pit can stay parked where it is; give us the gate contact and the site’s address and the pickup is arranged around it.
Further out, Denton Sand Farm sits 13.9 miles north-east and B & B Sand & Gravel 16 miles north-east, both sand and gravel operations on MSHA’s mine list. Haul trucks and tri-axle dumps from those yards are part of what we purchase. Keep any site inspection reports with the truck, and tell us which yard it ran out of.
Southlake fuel terminals and the Alliance rail ramp
Two petroleum product terminals named for Southlake appear on the Energy Information Administration’s list, one 10.4 miles south-east of Lantana and one 12.1 miles south. Tank trucks and tractors pulling fuel trailers between those terminals can be collected from a yard near either one, so send the location and a photo of the tank’s plate along with the cab.
West of town, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Alliance intermodal ramp 14.7 miles away, and the North American Rail Network shows the Alliance rail yard at 15 miles and the Carrollton yard 15.5 miles south-east. A day cab that has pulled containers off the Alliance ramp needs only its VIN, odometer reading and title for us to begin.
Wholesale payrolls and horse, wheat and sorghum farms
Lantana held 869 jobs in 2023 on the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, and 216 of them, 24.9 percent, sat in wholesale trade. A box truck or straight truck that delivered for a wholesale business here is one we buy; have the registration in the business’s name and a signed release if the title is held by the company.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 2,936 farms across Denton County, with equine, wheat and sorghum at the top of the list. Grain trucks and horse-hauling rigs parked on a county farm can be collected there. If a Texas title has gone missing, ask the state’s title agency for a certified copy before you call.
Lantana drivers close to home and far down the road
FMCSA’s census records 16 drivers at Lantana carriers working within 100 miles and 27 working beyond that radius. A long-haul sleeper may be parked somewhere other than town when you decide to sell; tell us the city and state where it stands and we arrange collection there.
A local day cab working inside that short-haul radius from FMCSA’s census is usually parked close to home in Denton County. Photos taken where it sits, with the VIN plate and the odometer in frame, are what we ask for first.
