FMCSA’s carrier census shows 15 active motor carriers based in Meadows Place, and 11 of them run intrastate only, with 4 crossing state lines. If your tractor stayed inside Texas its whole working life, have the Texas registration and the title in hand before you call, since those two papers settle most of what we need to know.
Three of those carriers are private fleets moving their own goods, according to the same federal carrier census, and the biggest outfit in town lists 3 power units and 3 drivers. A one- or two-truck operator selling here usually signs the paperwork personally, so make sure the name on the title matches yours or that you hold the company authority to sign.
Write down the current odometer reading and the VIN off the door jamb before you contact us; those two numbers start every conversation.
General freight, dry bulk and coil loads
Ten of the 15 carriers here tell FMCSA’s carrier census they haul general freight, which points to dry vans, box trucks and the day cabs that pull them. Photos of the cab interior, both sides of the tractor and the trailer coupling give us a clear picture of a freight truck without a visit.
Two local carriers list commodities dry bulk, two list machinery and large objects, and two list metal sheets, coils and rolls in the federal registrations. If your rig is set up for hoppers, lowboys or coil racks, mention the trailer and any attached equipment, and say whether it goes with the tractor or stays with you.
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 1,499 jobs in Meadows Place for 2023, with 103 in wholesale trade and 70 in transportation and warehousing. Box trucks and straight trucks from local wholesale and storage work are just as welcome as highway tractors, so send the body type and length with your photos.
Terminals a dozen miles east
The Energy Information Administration lists one petroleum product terminal 10.8 miles east of town and a second 11.5 miles east. Tank tractors that shuttled between those racks can be collected wherever they are parked, so tell us the yard address and who holds the gate key.
An ExxonMobil liquid bulk terminal sits 11.5 miles east, and Texas Blending & Warehousing, another liquid bulk site, lies 17.6 miles northeast, both on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list. Keep any terminal inspection sheets or tank test records with the truck; they travel with the title and help us confirm what the rig hauled.
Eureka Yard, the Pearland ramp and Richmond Material
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places Eureka Yard 13.1 miles northeast and a second Eureka yard 13.5 miles out. Drayage tractors working those yards often sit in shared lots, so give us the lot operator’s name and a phone number for whoever can release the truck.
Seventeen point seven miles east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records the Pearland rail intermodal ramp. If your chassis puller ran containers off that ramp, list the chassis or container gear that belongs to you and anything that is leased, so nothing is loaded that is not yours.
Richmond Material Co, a sand and gravel operation logged by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, sits 8.9 miles southwest of Meadows Place. Dump trucks and end-dump trailers from that kind of work can be picked up at the pit or at your yard; just tell us which and send the bed size.
A tall or heavy rig can be reached at a home driveway or a side street lot here, so the exact parking address is all we need to plan the route in.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,233 farms across Fort Bend County, with cattle, rice and cotton leading. Grain trucks, livestock haulers and farm tractor-trailers from the county are part of what we buy; a farm-plated truck still needs its title, and if that paper is missing, the state’s title agency issues a replacement before the sale.
