Boxes off Rio Valley
Drayage tractors west of Midway North
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places the Donna, TX - Rio Valley intermodal ramp 4.5 miles west of Midway North. A day cab or sleeper that drays boxes on and off that ramp may well be parked within a few minutes of home, and that is where we would collect it. Send the address of the lot, the VIN and a photo of the door sticker when you first get in touch.
If the tractor is kept in a shared yard near the Donna ramp, give us the name of whoever controls the gate. A clear title in your name, current Texas registration and a handful of photos of the cab, frame and fifth wheel are what we ask for before arranging a pickup there.
Rail traffic toward Harlingen
Nineteen-odd miles east, at 19.3 miles by the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, sits the HARLINGEN rail yard. Owners whose trucks shuttle between that yard and the Donna ramp often keep them on whichever end of the route is closer to the next load.
Tell us which end the truck is sitting at when you contact us, Harlingen or Midway North, and we plan the collection around that spot. Keep any logs or dispatch sheets showing the routes it covered; they help us understand the truck without you having to move it.
North-west aggregate
Gravel, sand and crushed stone to the north-west
La Havana Pit, a crushed-stone quarry 11.9 miles north-west, is listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, as is Portable Crusher #2 at 21 miles in the same direction. Dump trucks and tractors pulling end dumps out of quarries like these qualify for sale to us, and photos of the bed, hoist and tailgate should go along with the cab shots.
Sand and gravel comes from Texan Pit, 17.1 miles west, and Perales Pit, 24.7 miles north-west, on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list of mine sites. A truck kept at a pit rather than at home can be collected right there; just give us the site contact so someone can let us through the gate.
Product haulers
Pulling product out of EDINBURG
Up the road 15.5 miles to the north-west, the Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal named EDINBURG. Tractors that pull fuel tankers out of a terminal like that one are on the list of what we buy, whether the trailer goes with the sale or stays behind.
Tell us up front whether the tank trailer is part of the deal. For each unit, have the title, the plate number and any tank test or inspection paperwork in one folder, so the tractor and trailer can be matched to their own documents.
Harvest trucks on Hidalgo County cotton and corn ground
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture found 2,045 farms across Hidalgo County, with cotton, corn and cattle at the top of the list. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and the tractors that move cotton modules around Midway North are trucks we purchase, including ones that only see use at harvest.
A farm truck often sits in a barn or at the edge of a field for part of the year, and we can come to it there. Bring the title out of the filing cabinet, check that the name on it matches yours, and photograph the truck where it stands so we can see how to reach it.
