Rail, three miles east
Two Harlingen rail yards a few minutes from Palm Valley
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places two Harlingen rail yards east of Palm Valley, one 2.8 miles out and the other 2.9. A day cab that shuttles freight between those yards and the warehouses around them can be sold from wherever it is parked between runs.
If your tractor is kept inside a yard fence rather than at your home in Palm Valley, give us the gate location and the name of whoever can let a driver in. That one detail settles how the collection gets arranged.
Have the VIN, the odometer reading and a few clear photos of the cab, the frame and the fifth wheel ready before you get in touch, so the first conversation is about your truck and not about missing details.
Tanker lanes
Tank work out toward the terminals east of town
Heading east from Palm Valley, the Energy Information Administration records a Harlingen petroleum product terminal 8.6 miles away and the KEY PETROL LLC terminal at 9.4 miles. Titan Fuel, a liquid bulk terminal the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists at 9.6 miles, sits close beside them.
A Palm Valley tractor hauling fuel among that cluster of three east-side terminals is one we take, tank trailer included. Tell us which terminals the rig served and send any inspection reports or service records you kept, so the truck’s history reaches us along with the photos.
A tanker parked at a terminal lot can stay there. Let us know who manages the lot and we will set the pickup up with them directly.
Docks and ramps
From the Port of Harlingen to the Brownsville waterfront
The Port of Harlingen Authority appears in Bureau of Transportation Statistics port listings 14.9 miles east of Palm Valley. Brownsville’s port, from that same federal agency, lies 24.4 miles to the south-east, toward the coast.
West of town instead, Donna’s Rio Valley intermodal ramp is 20.9 miles away according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A sleeper or day cab that pulls containers off that ramp or out of either port does not need to be driven back to Palm Valley before you sell it.
Send the address where the truck is parked and the name of someone on site who can show our driver to it. Container chassis and flatbeds that have worked the docks are welcome alongside the tractors.
Harvest hauling from the fields outside Palm Valley
Around Palm Valley the farmland is counted at the county level: USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture tallies 1,248 farms in Cameron County, with cotton, sorghum and corn as its leading crops. Grain trucks, module haulers and farm tractor-trailers that move those harvests are trucks we purchase.
A farm truck often spends the off season parked in a barn or at the edge of a field. Tell us which road reaches it and whether a truck and trailer can get close to it, and send photos taken in daylight.
If the registration is in a farm or ranch name instead of your own, mention it at the start, along with who is able to sign for that entity.
Levee Street office
Replacing a missing certificate from the Brownsville tax office
Palm Valley owners deal with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles by way of a county tax assessor-collector office, down in Brownsville. The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles lists the Cameron County Tax Office at 835 East Levee, Brownsville, 78520, as the one serving Palm Valley, 26.1 miles from town.
If the title is lost, a copy can be requested from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles through that Brownsville office. Tell us early if you are waiting on one, so we know the sale is in motion while the replacement is on its way.
When the title is still held by a lender, tell us who the lienholder is and we will ask what they need for the release.
Where owners keep rigs
A small town with a few hundred jobs
The LEHD figures (LODES) for 2023 place 488 workplace positions within Palm Valley. Trucks owned by Palm Valley residents are often based at a yard, a terminal or a port lot rather than in town.
Wherever your truck is based, the steps stay the same: tell us where it is, what it hauled and who can hand over the keys, and keep the title and registration together for the day we collect.
