Sand and gravel pits just outside Rhome
Two pits sit close to Rhome in Mine Safety and Health Administration records: IMAGE MATERIALS, 2.5 miles off to the south-west, and Top-Way Materials, LLC, 3.3 miles due south, both digging sand and gravel. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that runs loads out of either pit can be collected from the pit lot, a yard in town or a driveway on a county road; send us the address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Further out, Bridgeport Stone Plant appears in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as a crushed-stone quarry 17.6 miles north-west. If your truck is parked up at a quarry like that one, photograph the cab, the frame and the bed in daylight, and note the VIN off the door jamb before you call.
Alliance, Saginaw and the corridor south-east
About 9.8 miles south-east, the ALLIANCE rail yard is part of the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics separately lists the Alliance, TX intermodal ramp at 10.1 miles. Day cabs that shuttle containers off that ramp belong on our list; give us the model year, the engine and the odometer reading so the first conversation is about the truck itself.
Saginaw, roughly 16 miles out, holds a petroleum product terminal named in Energy Information Administration listings, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics puts Quality Transload Inc, a liquid bulk terminal, at 16.3 miles. A tractor that pulled tank trailers between those sites can stay where it is parked while you arrange the sale; tell us which terminal it served and have the registration to hand.
Flatbeds, car haulers and vans registered in Rhome
FMCSA’s carrier census records 96 active carriers here: 52 haul general freight, 19 move machinery and large objects, 14 carry motor vehicles and 13 handle sheet, coil and roll metal. That spread covers car haulers, step-decks and flatbeds as well as dry vans, and we collect any of them.
Of those carriers, the same FMCSA census counts 74 that operate intrastate, 21 interstate and 30 running private fleets. If your truck works only inside Texas and has never carried interstate authority, say so up front; it changes nothing about collection, but it tells us which papers to ask you for.
New registrations show up too: FMCSA lists 12 carriers starting in 2025 and 8 in 2024. A small operator selling a first or second truck needs the same thing a fleet does, a clear title in the seller’s name and a set of photos.
An eighty-tractor fleet and the owner-operators beside it
Among Rhome carriers, the three biggest fleets on FMCSA’s census run 80, 51 and 45 power units, with 83, 107 and 45 drivers. A fleet clearing several tractors at once can list every VIN in one message, and we plan collection across the yard rather than truck by truck.
Drivers working local routes here number 268 within 100 miles and 308 beyond it, as reported in FMCSA’s carrier census, and the 30 carriers reporting mileage show a median of 37,365 miles per truck a year. A unit on longer runs may be parked at a terminal or home base far from Rhome; tell us where it sits today.
Manufacturing and extraction jobs in town
Of Rhome’s 765 jobs in 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts place 311 in manufacturing, which is 40.7 percent of the town’s work. Box trucks and tractors that serve plant docks are trucks we purchase; have a service log from the shop that maintained one ready to send.
Mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction account for 77 local jobs, or 10.1 percent, in the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023. Water trucks, vacuum trucks and other oilfield units qualify alongside the dump trucks from the gravel pits.
Livestock haulers on Wise County roads
Rhome’s surrounding county carries 3,528 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, where cattle, deer and foliage plants top the list. Stock trailers’ tractors, flatbeds that move hay and straight trucks from nurseries all fit what we buy.
Ranch trucks tend to stay on the property between seasons, and a truck parked in a pasture or behind a barn can be picked up there. Give us directions from the nearest paved road and mention any gate or cattle guard the driver will cross.
Wise County’s tax office, twelve miles up to Decatur
Titles in Texas come from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, and its county tax assessor-collector offices handle the paperwork; for Rhome that is the Wise County Tax Office at 404 W Walnut, Decatur, 76234, 12.1 miles from town according to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. If the title is missing, start a certified copy there before you list the truck.
Bring photo identification and the VIN to the Decatur counter, and if a lender still shows on the title, ask the lienholder for its release letter at the same time. With the title in your name, the rest of the sale is a matter of photos and an address.
