General freight, lowboys and feed haulers in Rockdale
Of the 61 active motor carriers FMCSA’s census places in Rockdale, 36 declare general freight among their loads. If your tractor pulled mixed loads for one of those outfits, a vehicle identification number, the current Texas registration and a clear title are what we ask to see first.
Machinery and oversize loads are the declared cargo of 15 carriers here, going by FMCSA’s census. A lowboy tractor or a heavy-spec day cab from that work is something we collect, so send photos of the deck, the axles and the cab together with the VIN.
Seven local carriers haul farm supplies and another seven move grain, feed or hay, both figures from FMCSA. Trucks like these often stay parked at a barn or a feed yard between seasons; give us the gate location and a phone number for whoever holds the key.
Mostly Texas routes, with a few crossing state lines
Of Rockdale’s carriers, 47 operate intrastate only and 14 are authorised for interstate work, according to the federal carrier census. A truck that stayed inside Texas will usually be parked somewhere in or near Milam County when we come for it, and that is where we pick it up.
Twenty-one of the town’s registered operations are private fleets hauling their own goods, as FMCSA records them. If your truck belonged to a business rather than a for-hire carrier, have the company officer who can sign the title ready, along with any service records the shop kept.
Across 15 Rockdale carriers that report mileage to FMCSA, the median truck runs 19,320 miles a year. Note your odometer reading when you contact us; it is a neutral fact we record with the VIN, nothing more.
One fleet of thirty-four, then many small outfits
The largest fleet in town fields 34 power units and 37 drivers on its FMCSA registration, while the next two run 10 and 6 power units. Selling several units at once from a fleet like that works the same way as one: list each VIN and where each truck is parked.
Small operators are still arriving. The federal motor carrier census shows 8 new Rockdale carriers registered in 2024 and 4 more in 2025. An owner-operator who started recently and is now selling should have the title in the name on the operating authority, or a signed release from the lender.
A gravel pit and an industrial sand mine near Rockdale
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Cameron 1334 (3), a sand and gravel operation, 15.8 miles north-east of Rockdale. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that worked that pit can be collected from the site or from your yard; tell us which, and whether a loader is needed to clear the way.
Burleson Sand, an industrial-mineral mine 22.7 miles east, also appears in MSHA’s mine register. If your truck hauled from there, any site access paperwork or inspection reports help us arrange entry if the truck is still parked on mine property.
Construction jobs and wholesale trade
Census Bureau LEHD job counts put 2,134 jobs in Rockdale in 2023, and 299 of them, 14 percent, were in construction. Contractors here run dump trucks, water trucks and flatbeds; if one of those is idle in your equipment yard, photos of each side and the VIN plate are a good start.
Wholesale trade held 54 local jobs, 2.5 percent of the total, in the same LEHD figures for 2023. Box trucks and straight trucks from distribution work are on our list too; have the registration and the title together before we arrive.
Ranch and row-crop trucks on Milam County ground
Milam County counted 2,048 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle, corn and cotton as the leading products. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and module trucks from those operations can be collected on the farm itself, so give us directions to the field road or barn.
Farm trucks are sometimes titled to a family member or to the farm as a business. Before we schedule a pickup in Milam County, check whose name is on the title for each of the county’s ag trucks you plan to sell and have that person available to sign.

Name the person at the pit office who can open the gate for our driver.

Is a newer Rockdale operator able to sell to you?FMCSA’s carrier census shows 4 new Rockdale carriers registered in 2025, and newer owner-operators sell to us the same way as long-established fleets. Have the title and any lien release in hand.
- Our cattle trailer and tractor are on a ranch outside town. Do we need to haul them in?USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 2,048 farms in Milam County, and we pick up on the farm rather than asking you to haul anything in. Describe the ranch road and which pasture gate the tractor sits behind.
