Crushed stone at the Brauer and Stone pits
Brauer Pit 1, a crushed-stone quarry the Mine Safety and Health Administration places 2.4 miles west of Sonterra, is close enough that a dump truck hauling from it may never park far from home. If yours is sitting at a yard near the pit, give us that yard’s address rather than your house, and we will collect it where it stands.
Stone Pit 4 is the second crushed-stone site the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists nearby, 3.9 miles west. A tri-axle or a tractor with an end-dump that has run aggregate between these two pits sells the same way as any other truck: send the VIN, a photo of each side and one of the dump body raised, and say which pit it worked.
Slab and block from two cut-stone quarries
Morgan Pit lies 2.9 miles west and Cooper Quarry-East 3.6 miles west, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists both as dimension-stone quarries, where blocks and slabs are cut rather than crushed. Flatbeds and lowboys that move cut stone off sites like these are trucks we purchase, along with the tractors that pull them.
For a flatbed that has carried slabs out of Morgan Pit or Cooper Quarry-East, tell us the deck length and whether the trailer goes with the tractor or stays behind. Having the title for each unit in hand, tractor and trailer separately, keeps the paperwork to one visit.
North Austin Quarry and True Materials
Southwest of Sonterra, the Mine Safety and Health Administration records North Austin Quarry as a sand and gravel operation 6.5 miles out. True Materials, another sand and gravel site, sits 10.8 miles to the south-east in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records. A truck that splits its week between those two may be parked at either end of Sonterra on the day you call.
Tell us which of the two sites the truck is nearer when you reach out, and whether a loader or gate stands between it and the road. If the truck is on a quarry lot, name a person who can let us onto the property.
The Taylor terminals to the south-east
Two petroleum product terminals appear in the Energy Information Administration’s records near Sonterra: one listed as TAYLOR, 15.2 miles south-east, and TAYLOR TERMINAL, 15.8 miles in the same direction. Tankers and the day cabs that pull them on runs out of Taylor are part of what we buy.
If your tractor has loaded at the Taylor terminals, bring whatever inspection reports and terminal paperwork you kept for it to the conversation. None of it is required, but it lets us see where the truck has been without guessing.
Corn, cattle and deer across Williamson County
Corn, cattle and deer lead the 2,352 Williamson County farms tallied in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, the county that wraps around Sonterra. Grain trucks from corn ground, cattle haulers and ranch flatbeds are all on our list, and a farm truck parked in a barn or a pasture is collected from there.
A ranch truck that only moves between fields often has a title that has sat in a drawer for years. Find it before you call; if it is lost, the state’s title agency issues a replacement, and we can talk you through what it asks for.
Selling here
What a Sonterra seller has ready
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts put 480 jobs inside Sonterra in 2023, while the quarries and farm ground around it lie outside the town line. Wherever yours sits, at a driveway in Sonterra or a pit lot to the west, that address is where we pick it up.
Before you contact us, have the title in the name on the registration, the current registration card, and a few clear photos of the cab, the frame and the plate on the door. With those three things, the rest of the sale is a phone call and a pickup.
