Two petroleum terminals south of the town line
The Energy Information Administration places PAR TRUCK RACK, a petroleum product terminal, 4.4 miles south of University Park. A fuel tanker that loads there may be parked at a yard nearer the rack than at a house in town, so give us that yard’s street address and the name of whoever controls the gate.
DALLAS BLENDING TERMINAL sits 7.1 miles to the south-west, another petroleum product terminal on the Energy Information Administration’s list. If your tractor pulled tank trailers between these two racks, keep its hazmat placard history and any tank test certificates with the title, and tell us whether the trailer is part of the sale or stays behind.
Bulk liquid terminals out west
West of town, a liquid bulk terminal stands 6.1 miles away on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics register, and a second one sits farther out at 16.3 miles. Chemical and liquid haulers based near either site can leave the tractor where it is; we collect from a terminal lot as readily as from a driveway.
Before we arrive at a bulk site, ask the terminal whether an outside driver needs a site badge or an escort, and pass that answer to us with the VIN. Photos of the cab, the frame rails and the fifth wheel, taken where the truck now stands, let us plan the collection without a second visit.
Yards west and south, a ramp in Mesquite
According to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the MOCKINGBIRD rail yard lies 5.6 miles west and the C J yard 5.8 miles south. Drayage tractors that shuttle between those yards and local docks are day cabs we can take off your hands; have the registration and the odometer reading in front of you when you call.
Container work reaches the Dallas, TX - Mesquite intermodal ramp 9.4 miles south-east, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records as a rail intermodal ramp. A chassis tractor kept near Mesquite can be collected on that side of Dallas, with no need to bring it back toward University Park.
Construction leads the trucking-related work
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 show 11,800 jobs in University Park, and 290 of them, or 2.5 percent, are in construction. Dump trucks, flatbeds and service bodies belonging to contractors on residential jobs here are welcome; list any body or attachment fitted to the chassis so we know exactly what is being sold.
That same LEHD release counts 112 jobs in transportation and warehousing, 94 in manufacturing, 88 in wholesale trade and 69 in mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction. A box truck from a wholesale route or a straight truck from a small plant fits what we take; a copy of the title and the most recent service invoice is enough to start.
Bridges a heavy truck crosses here
Across University Park, all 10 bridges in the Federal Highway Administration’s National Bridge Inventory carry no load posting and clear at least 14 feet. Our tow and haul equipment can reach a truck anywhere in town without a detour around a weight-posted span, so a curbside or alley address is fine.
Even so, tell us if the truck sits behind a gate, under a carport or in a narrow alley behind a house. A clear note on the exact spot, plus a photo of the approach, saves our driver from guessing at the address.
Ranch trucks and the Grand Prairie complex
Dallas County had 647 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle, corn and equine at the top of its list. Livestock haulers, horse trailer tow rigs and grain trucks kept on a county property can be collected from the barn or pasture gate; mention any ranch road the driver should use.
The Grand Prairie Reserve Complex, a military installation, is 12 miles south-west on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics map. If your truck is parked on or near a base, check visitor access rules first and let us know who can sign us through, along with the title and registration in your name.
The questions we get asked in University Park
- My tanker is parked at a fuel rack south of University Park. Will you collect it from the rack lot?PAR TRUCK RACK is 4.4 miles south, as the Energy Information Administration records it, and that lot is a normal collection point for us. Send the address, a gate contact and photos, and the pickup is planned around the rack’s hours.
- Do low bridges limit where you can reach my truck in town?Of the 10 bridges the National Bridge Inventory lists in University Park, none is under 14 feet and none is load-posted. Any street address in town works for collection.
- I use my truck for construction around Dallas County. Is that the kind you buy?Construction holds 290 of the 11,800 local jobs in the Census Bureau’s 2023 LEHD job counts, and dump trucks, flatbeds and service trucks from that work are what we collect. Have the title, the registration and a list of attachments ready.
