Amistad side pits
Dump trucks off the Amistad and Del Rio gravel yards
Amistad Sand & Gravel lies 7.3 miles west of Val Verde Park in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s mine listings, and Del Rio Pit & Plant #87 is a little further out at 8.2 miles. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has shuttled between those two sand and gravel operations can stay parked at the pit yard or at your place in town; give us the address and we arrange collection there.
When you contact us about a gravel hauler from that western side of the county, have the title in hand along with the registration, and gather any service records you kept while it worked the pits. Send photos of the bed, the hoist, the frame and the cab with your first message.
Bader Pit run
Crushed stone at Bader Pit, east of town
Bader Pit, a crushed-stone quarry recorded by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, is 22.1 miles east of Val Verde Park. A tractor that pulled belly-dumps or side-dumps on that run can be collected near the quarry or at home, whichever is where it sits.
If the truck sits out near Bader Pit, tell us who controls the gate and whether a tow rig can reach it on the quarry road. A phone number for the person on site saves a second trip, and the VIN from the door jamb lets us start on the paperwork before the pickup.
Laughlin traffic
Laughlin AFB and the recreation annex
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Laughlin AFB 5.3 miles south-east of Val Verde Park, with Laughlin Recreation Annex 14 miles to the north-west. Box trucks, flatbeds and tractors that delivered to either installation are on the list of what we buy.
A truck that is still inside a contractor yard near the base needs someone who can sign us in, so name that person when you reach out. If the vehicle has moved off post to a driveway in Val Verde Park, the street address is all we need to schedule the collection.
Goat and cattle land
Stock haulers from Val Verde County’s goat, sheep and cattle ranches
Val Verde County counts 333 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and cattle, goats and sheep top the county’s livestock list. Stock trailers, gooseneck haulers and single-axle trucks that moved animals between those ranches can be picked up from the pasture gate or the barn.
Ranch trucks are often titled to a family member or to the ranch itself, so check whose name is printed on the title before you call. If that person can sign, or if you hold a power of attorney, bring it along with the registration card and a few photos taken in daylight.
Owners in Val Verde Park who cannot find the Texas title can ask the state’s title agency for a duplicate. Start that request before we schedule pickup so the sale is not held waiting on a mailed certificate.
If a lender is still listed on the title, ask them for the release letter now. Keep the registration, the release and the signed title together in one folder, then send us clear photos of each page along with the truck pictures.
