Freight, moving vans and car haulers out of Watauga
General freight is the cargo on 52 of the 87 active Watauga motor carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census. If your tractor or box truck pulled general freight for one of those outfits, a VIN, a photo of the odometer and a few shots of the cab and frame are the first things to send us.
Household goods and motor vehicles each appear on 10 carrier registrations in the federal census, with dry bulk commodities on 8. A car hauler or a moving van from Watauga is as welcome as a highway tractor; tell us the body type and trailer setup so we bring the right equipment to collect it.
Of those 87 registrations, 64 run intrastate only, 23 cross state lines and 13 are private fleets, according to the FMCSA census. Texas-only or interstate, the sale works the same way: we need the title, the current registration and a name on the paperwork that matches the seller.
Small fleets, short radius and model year 2009
One carrier on the FMCSA census here runs 7 power units with 3 drivers, another runs 4 units with 4 drivers, and a third has 2 units and 3 drivers. If you are an owner of a fleet that size selling one truck or several, list each VIN and where each unit is parked, and we can plan one trip for all of them.
Watauga carriers report 77 operations working within 100 miles and 51 going beyond it, per the FMCSA filings; the median among the 18 carriers reporting annual miles is 50,000 per truck. A truck that stays on a local loop is usually home at night, so give us the yard or driveway address where it sleeps.
Across 33 Watauga-based trucks stopped between November 2024 and August 2026, the median model year was 2009 and 75.76 percent were ten or more model years old, by FMCSA roadside inspection records. We buy trucks of every model year, so send the year, make and model and whatever service records you kept.
Ethanol, petroleum and liquid bulk terminals near Meacham
The Energy Information Administration lists an ethanol terminal 5.1 miles south-west of Watauga and the Meacham Facility DFW petroleum terminal 5.5 miles out in the same direction. A tank truck or tractor that loaded at either one can be collected from a terminal lot as easily as from home, provided someone can let us through the gate.
Two liquid bulk terminals sit close by on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list: Bulkmatic Tranport CO, 5.4 miles south-west, and Quality Transload Inc, 6.5 miles west. If your rig is parked at a transload site, tell us whose property it is on and who holds the gate key, and we will arrange the collection with them.
Rail and the ramp
North and Hodge yards, and the Alliance ramp
Two rail yards named North and Hodge lie 5.7 miles south-west of town on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle between those yards and local docks are among the trucks we purchase; a cab photo, the VIN and the title are enough to start.
To the north-west, Alliance, TX, appears as a rail intermodal ramp 10.4 miles out in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings, and the NG Saginaw military installation is 5.9 miles west. If your container chassis tractor works the Alliance ramp, send the trailer details too, since we collect the tractor and need to know whether it comes with or without a chassis.
Watauga spans, construction crews and county ranches
Watauga’s 18 spans carry no load postings and no clearance below 14 feet, per the National Bridge Inventory. A tall sleeper or a loaded rollback can reach your address on those spans, so the pickup can happen wherever the truck is parked in town.
LEHD job counts from the Census Bureau show 4,374 jobs in Watauga for 2023, with 245 in construction, a 5.6 percent share, and County Business Patterns lists 30 construction establishments. Dump trucks, flatbeds and crew trucks from that trade are welcome; include the body make and any equipment mounted on the chassis.
Across Tarrant County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,000 farms, led by cattle, equine and wheat operations. Livestock haulers, horse trailer tow rigs and grain trucks from those farms can be collected on the property, so tell us the gate, the pasture road and who will be there.
Getting the Texas title and bill of sale together
A clean Texas title in the seller’s name is what the sale turns on. If the title went missing, request a duplicate from the state’s title agency before the pickup date, and keep the receipt to show us it is on the way.
Five new carriers registered in Watauga in 2024 and five more in 2025, the FMCSA census shows. If your operating authority is newer than the truck, gather the bill of sale from when you bought it along with the title, so the chain of ownership is complete on the day we collect.
The questions we get asked in Watauga
- My tractor sits at a fuel terminal by Meacham instead of my driveway. Will you still come out to the Meacham lot for it?The Meacham Facility DFW petroleum terminal sits 5.5 miles south-west of Watauga on the Energy Information Administration list, and we collect from terminal lots like it. Send the terminal’s street address and the name of whoever controls access to that lot.
- Will a low bridge stop your carrier from reaching my street?Watauga’s 18 bridges in the National Bridge Inventory include none under 14 feet and none load-posted, so clearance is not an obstacle in town. Just send the street address where the truck is parked.
- The title for my truck in Watauga has gone missing; where do I start?Texas trucks need a title from the state’s title agency, so apply there for a duplicate first. Tell us when you have applied and we can set a pickup date once it arrives.
- Do you buy trucks from small Watauga fleets?Watauga fleets on the FMCSA census run as few as 2 power units and as many as 7, and we buy from fleets of any size. List each VIN and parking location and we will plan the collection around them.
