West of Dulles Town Center by 6.3 miles, the Leesburg Plant is recorded as a crushed-stone quarry by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A dump truck or tractor that has run aggregate out of that pit can stay parked on the haul side; give us the gate address and a name who can let a driver in.
Goose Creek Plant, another crushed-stone operation, is 6.9 miles north-west on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list. If your truck worked both quarries, write down which loads it carried and keep the scale tickets or dispatch sheets together with the title; they sit in the file next to your photos.
Carrier roster
Thirty-one carriers based here
Of the 31 active carriers FMCSA’s carrier census places in Dulles Town Center, 21 cross state lines, 10 stay inside Virginia and 15 haul for their own business as private fleets. A private-fleet truck often carries a company’s own registration, so check whose name is on the title before you call us and have that owner’s signature lined up.
Cargo listings in that federal census show 17 carriers hauling general freight, 9 moving household goods, 6 carrying paper products and 4 hauling beverages. Box trucks from a moving outfit and tractors from a beverage route are both on our list; send the VIN, the odometer reading and a few photos of the cab and body.
Three of the bigger local fleets in FMCSA’s census run 65, 62 and 31 power units. An owner selling several units at once can send us one list of VINs with the parking address for each, and we plan collection around where every truck sits.
Of the drivers registered to carriers in this town, 210 stay within 100 miles and 106 run beyond it, per FMCSA’s carrier census. A truck on a long run may be parked in another state when you decide to sell, so tell us where it actually is, not where the company is based.
Median annual mileage reported across 13 local carriers comes to 16,322 miles per truck in the federal carrier census. Have the current odometer reading and your registration card handy when you contact us, since those two items start every conversation.
Between August 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records cover 506 trucks from these carriers, with a median model year of 2020 and 21.15 percent ten or more years old. Whatever the year on your title, bring the inspection reports you kept; they belong in the file with the registration.
Construction and warehousing in Loudoun
Dump bodies, flatbeds and mixers from building sites qualify, and a truck still sitting on a job site can be collected from there once the contractor clears access.
That same LEHD tally puts 710 jobs in transportation and warehousing, 551 in wholesale trade and 483 in manufacturing. County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau lists 195 construction establishments and 9 warehousing establishments here, so a seller might be anyone from a one-truck contractor to a distribution yard; either way, we need the title holder and the registration.
Tank and terminal
Terminals to the south-east
Two petroleum product terminals listed under the name Fairfax sit 14.2 miles south-east, according to the Energy Information Administration. If your tanker or fuel truck loads there, include the tank inspection certificates you hold when you send its details.
Farther out, at 21.7 miles south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Norfolk Southern TBT, a liquid bulk terminal. A tractor that pulls liquid trailers between that terminal and the Fairfax racks can be picked up at whichever yard it calls home.
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,332 farms in Loudoun County, with cattle, corn and equine the leading listings. Livestock haulers, grain trucks and horse-transport rigs from those farms fit what we purchase.
A farm truck is often titled to a family member or the farm itself rather than to the driver. Confirm the name on the title, find the registration, and if the title has gone missing, start the replacement with Virginia’s title agency before you reach out.
