Tankers and tractors off the ACCA tracks
Only 2.4 miles south-east of Dumbarton, the ACCA rail yard shows up on the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. If your tractor or straight truck has been working transloads out of that yard, tell us which gate it usually sits behind and whether a yard pass is needed, and we will arrange the collection around that.
Just past it, at 2.6 miles south-east, sits Transflo CSXT, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists as a liquid bulk terminal. A tank truck or a tractor that pulled tank trailers from there is the kind of equipment we buy in Henrico County. Have the title in your name, the current registration card and the tank inspection records together before you call, because those three papers answer most of what we will ask.
The Richmond yard and petroleum terminals
Further out, the RICHMOND rail yard lies 6.7 miles south-east on the North American Rail Network map, and the Energy Information Administration lists two RICHMOND petroleum product terminals at 7.3 and 7.4 miles in that same direction. Fuel haulers that load at those racks and are kept at a home lot in Dumbarton can be picked up from either spot.
When you send photos of a fuel tractor or tanker, include the VIN plate, the odometer, the cab interior and each side of the tank or trailer. Add the plate number and the name on the title, so the paperwork and the pictures describe the same truck from the first message.
South Richmond Quarry and Royal Stone dump work
Two crushed-stone quarries appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration listings near Dumbarton: SOUTH RICHMOND QUARRY, 9.4 miles to the south-east, and Royal Stone, 9.7 miles to the north-west. Tri-axle dump trucks and end-dump tractors that cycle between those pits and job sites are welcome here.
If your dump truck stays parked at a quarry lot rather than at home, give us the site name, who holds the keys, and the hours the gate is open. A truck at Royal Stone or South Richmond does not need to be driven anywhere first; we collect it where it stands.
Henrico contractors’ flatbeds and box trucks
Of Dumbarton’s 5,697 jobs in the Census Bureau’s 2023 LEHD job counts, construction supplied 488, a share of 8.6 percent. Contractors working out of the area run flatbeds, box trucks, dump trucks and service bodies, and any of those can be sold to us as one unit or as part of a small group.
Wholesale trade accounted for 50 local jobs in that same LEHD release, 0.9 percent of the total. Owners of a single delivery box truck or a stake bed from that kind of business can sell it on the same terms as a fleet owner; bring the title, the registration and any service invoices you kept.
Port and farm
Roll-on/roll-off cargo and soybean farms
The Port of Virginia’s Richmond Marine Terminal, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records as a roll-on/roll-off terminal, lies 11.5 miles south-east of Dumbarton. Drayage tractors and car haulers that work that roll-on/roll-off terminal can be collected from a terminal lot or from a driveway in town, whichever is simpler for you.
Henrico County counted 84 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with soybeans, honey and cattle as the leading products. A grain truck, a livestock hauler or a farm-plated straight truck from one of those operations qualifies too; tell us whether it carries farm plates so the title transfer is handled correctly.
