Crushed stone, north-east side
Hauling crushed stone from the Bull Run Plant and its Manassas neighbour
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Bull Run Plant, a crushed-stone quarry 5.5 miles north-east of town, and a second crushed-stone operation called Manassas 6.8 miles to the east. If your dump truck or tri-axle hauls aggregate out of either one, it may be parked at a yard near the pit rather than at your house; give us that address and we will collect it there.
Quarry trucks often carry scale tickets and site-access logs in the cab. Leave whatever you have with the truck, add the VIN and a set of photos showing the bed, the cab and both sides, and we can talk about the truck without a trip out to see it first.
Seven miles to the MANASSAS rack
Haymarket fuel tractors on the Manassas and Fairfax racks
Seven miles east of Haymarket, the Energy Information Administration records the MANASSAS petroleum product terminal, and a second terminal, FAIRFAX, stands 19.6 miles out in the same direction. A tractor that pulls a fuel trailer between those two racks is a truck we buy, with or without the trailer.
If the tank trailer is part of the sale, say so up front and send its plate and registration alongside the tractor’s. If only the tractor is going, tell us where the trailer will stay so the pickup does not tie up a loading lane at either terminal.
Reefers and box vans
A small carrier base with long-haul drivers
Haymarket has 104 active carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census; 77 of them list general freight, and beverages, refrigerated food and meat each appear on 29 registrations. Box trucks and reefer units are as likely to come up for sale here as dump trucks, so tell us the body type and whether the reefer unit comes with it.
Interstate authority covers 66 of those carriers, while 38 run intrastate only and 25 are private fleets hauling their own goods, again per FMCSA. A private-fleet truck usually has its service history in the owner’s own files; pull those records together before you call.
On FMCSA’s registrations, 185 drivers here range past the local hundred-mile radius against 97 who stay inside it, and the 43 carriers that report mileage put a median of 46,500 miles on each truck a year. A long-range sleeper may be out on a run when you decide to sell, so tell us when it will be back in Haymarket.
New authorities since 2024
One-truck outfits and the fleets of ten
FMCSA’s census shows 11 new carriers registering here in 2025 and 8 the year before. Newer authorities are often a single owner with a single tractor, and selling it is simpler when the title is in the same name as the operating authority; if it is not, mention that early.
The biggest fleet based in town runs 10 power units with 12 drivers, and the two after it run 7 trucks with 10 drivers apiece, according to the same FMCSA records. If you are thinning a fleet that size, list each unit by VIN and we will handle them one at a time or together.
Parkridge Center
A Haymarket truck missing its Virginia certificate
A Haymarket owner whose certificate has gone missing can ask the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles for a copy at any of its DMV Customer Service Centers and DMV Select offices. The nearest is the DMV Customer Service Center - Prince William/Manassas (Parkridge Center) at 11270 Bulloch Drive, Manassas, 20109, which the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles places 5.9 miles from Haymarket.
Order the duplicate before the truck is collected if the original is missing, and bring the registration card, which carries the VIN the clerk will ask for. If a lender is still shown on the title, have the lien release in hand as well.
Off the interstate
Building sites, farms and Quantico
Construction accounts for 9.5 percent of the jobs located in Haymarket, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023. Flatbeds, dump trucks and stake bodies that move materials to those sites can be picked up on the job site itself if that is easier than bringing them home.
Across the wider county, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 316 farms, with soybeans, cattle and horses as the leading products. A livestock hauler or grain truck kept in a barn lot is fine for us to collect from; tell us whether the lane is gravel and whether a gate needs opening.
To the south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Marine Corps Base Quantico 20.4 miles out and the Marine Corps Museum at 24.9 miles. If your truck has been working on contract around the base, note any access restrictions where it is parked so we can plan the pickup.
The questions we get asked in Haymarket
- Will you pick up a tri-axle that sits in the Bull Run Plant yard? The Bull Run Plant sits 5.5 miles north-east of Haymarket on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, and we can arrange collection at the quarry if the site allows it. Give us the gate contact and any hours the yard is open.
- If the title for my Haymarket tractor is lost, which customer service center should I visit? The Parkridge Center DMV Customer Service Center at 11270 Bulloch Drive in Manassas, 5.9 miles away by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles’ own figure, handles replacement titles. Bring the registration and photo ID.
- Do you buy reefer trucks as well as dump trucks?Refrigerated food appears on 29 carrier registrations in Haymarket in FMCSA’s census, and we buy those trucks with their units. Send photos of the reefer unit along with the cab and the box.
- Does a tanker trailer loaded at the MANASSAS rack go with the tractor sale? The MANASSAS terminal, seven miles east by the Energy Information Administration’s records, is close enough that collecting tractor and trailer together is straightforward. Tell us whether the trailer is included and send its registration.
