Four cargo lines
Farm supplies, lumber and machinery out of Cashmere
Of the 81 active Cashmere carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census, 29 list general freight, 25 list farm supplies, 20 list logs, poles, beams and lumber, and 20 list machinery and large objects. A Cashmere truck may sit under more than one of those headings, so when you contact us, name every cargo it carried and the trailer or body it ran with: flatbed, log bunks, lowboy or box.
FMCSA’s census also shows how those Cashmere outfits are set up: 66 of the 81 are private fleets moving their own goods, 75 run intrastate and 6 run interstate. If your tractor or straight truck belonged to a private fleet, have the company’s registration and the title in the same name ready, so the paperwork matches the owner on record.
Small outfits and a pair of twenty-truck fleets
The three biggest Cashmere carriers in FMCSA’s carrier census run 20 power units with 19 drivers, 19 power units with 16 drivers, and 6 power units with 9 drivers. If you are selling several units out of a yard that size, send us a list with each VIN, the plate and where each one is parked, and we can plan one visit around the whole group.
New registrations stay few here: FMCSA’s carrier census records 2 new Cashmere carriers in 2025 and none in 2024. Whether your operation is decades old or started last year, the documents we ask for are the same: the title, the current registration and any service records you kept for the truck.
Miles on the clock
Radius driving and annual miles for Cashmere trucks
FMCSA’s carrier census counts 148 Cashmere-based drivers staying inside 100 miles of home and 61 who travel past that line. Among the 12 carriers that reported annual mileage to FMCSA, the median works out to 6,750 miles per truck, a neutral figure that describes local haul patterns.
Write down the odometer reading and take a photo of the dash when you first reach out, along with shots of each side, the cab interior and the frame. With those pictures and the VIN in hand, we can answer you about your particular truck rather than in general.
Wenatchee rail yards and the ARP gravel sites
The North American Rail Network, maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places Wenatchee Yard 9.5 miles south-east of Cashmere and the Wenatchee yard 9.6 miles out in the same direction. If your truck is kept on a lot near either yard, give us the street address and the name of whoever holds the gate key.
Further along that south-east line, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists ARP Portable Crusher #1, a sand and gravel operation 11 miles away, and ARP Palisades at 23.3 miles. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that hauled from those pits can stay right where it is parked; we come out to collect it there.
Packing and plant jobs
Wholesale, farm and factory jobs in Cashmere
Census Bureau LEHD job counts for 2023 put 1,930 jobs in Cashmere, with wholesale trade holding 552 of them, or 28.6 percent. In the same LEHD figures, agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting accounts for 226 (11.7 percent), manufacturing for 205 (10.6 percent) and construction for 86 (4.5 percent). Trucks tied to packing, storage or plant work are welcome; tell us which site the truck served so we know where to find it.
In Chelan County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 712 farms, with equine, cattle and honey as the leading categories there. The Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns adds 42 construction establishments to that picture of ranch and contractor work. A ranch flatbed, a stock truck or a contractor’s dump body all fit what we buy, and a clear title in the seller’s name is the first thing to locate.
Lost titles, lien releases and Ecology guidance for Cashmere sellers
If the title for your Cashmere truck has gone missing, request a replacement from the state’s title agency before the sale, and keep the current registration card with it. A lienholder named on that title needs to sign a release, so ask for that letter early if a loan was ever carried on the truck.
Washington’s Department of Ecology guidance shows enforcement paused for both Advanced Clean Trucks, as adopted in the state’s Clean Vehicles Program, and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus under WAC 173-423-081. The Ecology update to regulatory guidance on those rules is in force, and none of it changes what you need to hand over: the title, the keys and the registration.
The questions we get asked in Cashmere
- My lumber hauler sits on a lot by Wenatchee Yard south-east of town; will you pick it up there?Wenatchee Yard lies 9.5 miles south-east of Cashmere on the North American Rail Network, and we collect the truck from that lot.
