A third of Clearview’s jobs build things
Construction holds 364 of Clearview’s 1,120 jobs in 2023, or 32.5 percent, according to the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for the town. If your dump truck, flatbed or mixer has spent its working life on Snohomish County sites, gather the title and registration before you call, and keep the truck where it sits between jobs.
A contractor’s yard, a driveway off a county road or a job site that is still open are all places we can collect from. Give us the street address, the name of whoever holds the gate key, and a phone number for the day of pickup, and the truck never has to leave Clearview under your own arrangements.
Construction trucks often carry a box or a body that matters as much as the chassis. Photograph the bed, the hoist or drum, the cab interior and the VIN plate, and list the body make if you know it, so the description we receive matches the truck we come to load.
Quarry country east
High Rock Quarry and the pits to the north-east
Heidelberg Materials High Rock Quarry, a crushed-stone operation the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 8 miles east of Clearview, is the nearest mine site to town. Tractors and dump trucks that have hauled aggregate from there can stay parked near the quarry road when you sell; tell us the location and who can let us in.
Further out, the Mine Safety and Health Administration records Getchell Pit 17.9 miles north-east and Menzel Lake Gravel 19 miles north-east, both sand and gravel operations. A truck kept at a pit-side lot rather than at home is fine with us, as long as the owner of that ground knows a collection is coming.
For any truck that has worked these three sites, the paperwork to have ready is short: the title in your name, current registration, and whatever service records sit in the cab or the office. Those three items settle most questions before the first phone call ends.
North-west to tidewater
From Clearview to the Everett docks and Bayside rails
Everett, 10.7 miles north-west, is listed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics as a strategic seaport. Day cabs that shuttle between the waterfront and Snohomish County warehouses are the sort of tractor we buy from owners here, and we can meet the truck at a terminal lot or at your home in Clearview.
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows BAYSIDE YARD 11.9 miles north-west and a second Bayside yard 12 miles north. If your tractor or chassis is parked near either one, send us the nearest cross street and a photo of where it stands so the pickup truck can reach it.
Down toward Seattle, Terminal 30 (T-30) sits 19.1 miles south-west and Seattle International Gateway (SIG) 19.5 miles south-west, each a rail intermodal ramp on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list. A container tractor that finishes its shifts at those ramps can be sold from there; the odometer reading and the VIN are the first two things to send.
Milk, cattle and corn trucks near Clearview
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,418 farms in Snohomish County, with milk, cattle and corn as its top three products. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and grain trucks that serve those farms are commercial trucks we purchase, whether they sit at a barn or at a co-op lot.
A milk tanker or cattle hauler from a Snohomish County dairy may carry the farm’s name on its title instead of yours. Check whose name is on the title, and if it is the farm’s, have the person authorised to sign for it on hand when we arrange collection. If the title cannot be found, the state’s title agency issues a replacement, and it helps to start that request early.
Clean Vehicles Program status
Washington’s clean-truck rules in brief
Washington adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation through its Clean Vehicles Program, and a state guidance publication lists enforcement of that rule as paused. The same publication from Washington’s Clean Vehicles Program lists the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus as paused too, while the guidance update covering both rules is in force.
None of that changes what we need from a Clearview seller: the title, the registration and clear photos. If you have an emissions label or engine family number on the truck, photograph it as well, since it identifies the engine without anyone having to open the hood.
The questions we get asked in Clearview
- Will you pick up a dump truck left by High Rock Quarry instead of in Clearview itself?High Rock Quarry is 8 miles east of Clearview on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing, and we collect from where the truck is parked. Share the quarry-side address plus the person holding keys to that lot.
- The title for my Snohomish County farm truck is missing; where do I get a replacement? For a Clearview farm truck, the duplicate title is issued by the state’s title agency. Ask for it in the name shown on the registration, whether that is yours or the farm’s, and tell us when you have applied.
- My tractor is based at the Everett seaport. Can it stay there, or must I bring it home to Clearview?Everett’s seaport, 10.7 miles north-west on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list, is close enough that we can meet the tractor at its lot. Tell us the terminal and a contact who can let us in.
