Two petroleum terminals east and south-east of Country Homes
Fuel racks sit close on two sides: Spokane’s petroleum product terminal is 3 miles east of Country Homes and Hillyard’s is 4.4 miles south-east, per Energy Information Administration listings. A tanker tractor or fuel delivery truck that loads at either one may well be parked back here between runs, and that is where we can collect it.
If yours has hauled out of Spokane or Hillyard, tell us which rack it loaded at and whether the tank is still mounted or the tractor runs solo. Photos of the cab, the frame and the tank or fifth wheel, with the VIN plate in one shot, let us start without a visit.
SI Yard and the Spokane ramp, south-east of town
On the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the SI Yard lies 6.1 miles south-east of Country Homes. Day cabs that shuttle freight between that yard and north Spokane customers are tractors we buy, whether the owner runs one or several.
Spokane’s rail intermodal ramp, 6.8 miles out in the same direction according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, handles containers that local drayage tractors pull. If your tractor has worked that ramp, have the registration and any service records together before you call, and say whether a chassis goes with it.
Gravel pits east and south of town
Two sand and gravel operations appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records near here: the Sullivan Road Facility 11.5 miles east and Wash Plant #1 about 13.5 miles south. Dump trucks, end dumps and belly-dump tractors that haul aggregate from sites like these fit what we purchase.
A gravel truck is often left at the pit or a contractor’s yard instead of at home. Give us that address, the name of whoever controls the gate, and a phone number, and the pickup is arranged there so you never have to move it into Country Homes.
Contractors and their trucks in Country Homes
Of the 2,584 jobs the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts placed in Country Homes in 2023, construction held 342, or 13.2 percent. That work runs on flatbeds, dump trucks, boom trucks and service bodies, and a contractor here who is down-sizing can sell one unit or the set.
For a work truck that belonged to a business, the title should be in the company name and signed by someone authorised to sign for it. Send the title, current registration and a photo of each side, and mention any body or equipment mounted on the chassis.
Grain, beef and horse farms around Country Homes
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counted 2,386 farms in Spokane County, with wheat, cattle and equine listed first. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and the pickups and tractors that pull horse trailers all come out of that farm economy around Country Homes.
A farm truck may sit in a shed or field between harvests. Tell us which farm road reaches it and whether a loader can get near, and keep the farm plates or registration with the title so the paperwork matches the truck we load.
Washington’s clean truck rules, as of now
The Washington Department of Ecology’s guidance lists enforcement of both the Advanced Clean Trucks rule and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards under WAC 173-423-081 as paused. Its updated regulatory guidance for those rules and Advanced Clean Cars II is in force.
For a seller in Country Homes, that means no state clean truck deadline stands in the way of selling a diesel tractor or work truck today. Ecology’s own publication carries the current wording if you want to read it.
The questions we get asked in Country Homes
- My tanker stays by the Spokane terminal rather than at home in Country Homes - can you get it there? The Energy Information Administration puts that terminal 3 miles east of Country Homes, and we collect from wherever the truck is parked. Send the terminal-side address and the name of the person holding yard access.
- My dump truck hauls aggregate from the Sullivan Road pit east of Country Homes - would you buy it?Mine Safety and Health Administration records place the Sullivan Road Facility 11.5 miles east of Country Homes, and dump trucks that work sand and gravel sites like it are among the trucks we purchase. Photos of the box and hoist, the VIN and a Washington title in your name are what to send.
- Does Ecology’s paused Advanced Clean Trucks rule affect selling my diesel tractor from Country Homes?Ecology’s guidance lists Advanced Clean Trucks and the Low NOx Omnibus as enforcement paused in Washington, so neither rule blocks a sale. Have the title and registration ready and we can go ahead.
