A mile up the road
Just 1.2 miles out of Eatonville toward the north-east, the Mine Safety and Health Administration records Lynch Creek Quarry LLC as an active sand and gravel operation. A dump truck or end-dump that has spent its days hauling out of that pit may well be parked right beside it when you decide to sell, and we can collect it from the pit yard as long as someone can let us through the gate.
Further up the same north-east line, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Kapowsin Quarry, a crushed-stone site 8.1 miles out, and King Creek Pit, a sand and gravel operation at 10.9 miles. If your tractor or dump body is kept at one of those sites, tell us which one and who manages the lot, and send photos of the cab, the frame and the bed so we know what we are coming to see.
Columbia Granite, another crushed-stone quarry on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, is 18.6 miles west of town. Trucks that split their work between Columbia Granite and the pits north-east of Eatonville can be picked up at whichever end they happen to sit; give us the address and a phone number for the person holding the keys.
Log trucks, lowboys and the loads Eatonville carriers list
Of the 136 active carriers that FMCSA’s carrier census places in Eatonville, 34 list logs, poles, beams or lumber among their cargo and 39 list machinery and large objects. That points to log trucks with bunks and stakes, and to tractors that pull lowboys or step-decks carrying excavators and loaders. Whichever you own, have the VIN, the title and the current registration ready before you call.
General freight is the most common cargo entry, with 58 carriers listing it in the federal carrier census, and 22 Eatonville carriers list farm supplies. A box truck, a flatbed or a day cab that has done a mix of all of these is the kind of truck we buy, so describe the work it did and attach any service records you have kept.
Fleets here are small: the three largest registered in town run 11, 10 and 4 power units according to FMCSA’s census, with 8, 7 and 6 drivers. If you are an owner-operator or run a two- or three-truck outfit, you can sell one unit and keep the rest working; tell us which truck and where it is parked.
Mostly in-state hauling
Local routes, Frederickson Yard and the Tacoma port
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 121 Eatonville carriers operating intrastate against 15 that cross state lines, and 92 of the town’s carriers run private fleets hauling their own goods. A contractor or farm that keeps a truck for its own work can sell it to us just as a for-hire carrier can; bring the title in the business name and a signed authority from whoever owns the company.
Driver records filed with FMCSA put 181 drivers working inside a hundred-mile radius and 75 working beyond it. For the 16 local carriers that reported mileage, the federal census gives a median of 12,250 miles a truck each year. Note the odometer reading when you send your photos so we can match the truck to its paperwork.
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the port at Tacoma 13.3 miles north-east, and the North American Rail Network shows Frederickson Yard 15.9 miles north-west. A drayage tractor or chassis hauler that works between those yards and Eatonville can be collected at the yard or at home; whichever you choose, let us know whether a pass or escort is needed to reach it.
An Eatonville title lost? Start at Mountain Hwy E
Washington titles are issued by the Washington State Department of Licensing, which handles replacements through its vehicle and vessel licensing offices. The Department of Licensing’s own office list puts the nearest one to Eatonville at EZ AUTO LICENSE & TITLE, 22225 Mountain Hwy E, Ste F, Spanaway, 98387, a vehicle and vessel licensing office about 14.3 miles away.
If you cannot find the title for your truck, start the replacement with that Spanaway office before you contact us, and keep the receipt it gives you. A truck registered to a business needs the replacement applied for in the business’s name, so bring proof that you can sign for the company.
Ecology rulings
What Washington’s emissions programme says right now
Washington’s Department of Ecology lists its Advanced Clean Trucks rule, adopted from California’s regulation under the state’s Clean Vehicles Program, as paused for enforcement, and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus under WAC 173-423-081 carries the same status. An updated regulatory guidance document covering both of those rules and Advanced Clean Cars II is listed as in force.
None of this stops you from selling a diesel tractor or work truck from Eatonville today. If you have emissions paperwork or engine certification labels on the truck, photograph them along with the rest of the cab so we have everything in one place.
