Aggregate trucks two quarries south of the lake
Kitsap Quarry, a crushed-stone operation on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, lies 2.5 miles south of Kitsap Lake, and Plant 1, another crushed-stone site on that same federal register, is 4.1 miles south. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that hauls aggregate out of either one is the kind of truck we collect. Tell us which site it loads at, and have the title and registration in hand when you call.
If your truck is parked at a quarry gate rather than at home, give us that address. We pick up at the yard where the truck stands, quarry gate included. A few photos of the cab, the bed and the VIN plate let us see the truck before we arrange the pickup.
Pit to pit
Gravel pits north and south-west of the lake
Plant #2, a sand and gravel operation registered with the Mine Safety and Health Administration, sits 3.5 miles north of town; Bear Creek, a second gravel site under the same agency, is 8.1 miles to the south-west. Trucks that shuttle gravel between these pits and job sites around the lake are welcome, whether a single tandem dump or several from one yard.
When more than one truck is involved, list each VIN with its title holder before we talk. If a lender still holds a title, say so at the start; we work with the lienholder’s release, and knowing early keeps the paperwork straight for every truck in the group.
Toward the shipyard
Deliveries toward the Bremerton shipyard gates
To the south-east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics places NG Bremerton 2.9 miles away and Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton 3.8 miles out, both listed as military installations. Box trucks, flatbeds and service bodies that make deliveries toward the base gates are trucks we take, and a contractor’s spare unit counts as much as a daily driver.
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows the BREMERTON NAVAL rail yard 3.4 miles south-east and BALMER YARD 15.7 miles east across the water. A day cab that has pulled loads off either yard can stay where it is parked; send the location, the VIN and the odometer reading, and we plan the collection around them.
Replacing a title two and a half miles away
For a missing title, the Washington State Department of Licensing handles replacements through its vehicle and vessel licensing offices. The nearest to Kitsap Lake, per the Washington State Department of Licensing, is KITSAP AUTO LICENSING - Next to Family Pancake House, at 3850 Kitsap Way Ste 103, Bremerton, 98312, about 2.5 miles from town.
Start the replacement there before we schedule a pickup, and bring your registration and an ID. If the truck is titled to a business, bring the paper showing who can sign for it. Once the department issues the new title, we can complete the sale on it.
Contractors by the lake
A small job base built on construction
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) recorded 356 jobs located in Kitsap Lake in 2023, and 76 of them, a 21.3 percent share, were in construction. Contractors here run dump trucks, flatbeds and crew trucks, and any of those can be sold to us from the job site or the shop lot.
A builder retiring one truck from a small yard gets the same pickup as a larger outfit. Have the title, the registration and any service records you keep, and tell us where on the site the truck will be on collection day.
Trees and cattle
Christmas tree farms across the county
Around Kitsap Lake, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 570 farms in Kitsap County, and cut Christmas trees head that county’s list, followed by Christmas trees with short-term woody crops, then cattle. Flatbeds and stake trucks that move trees at harvest, and livestock haulers for the cattle farms, are trucks we buy.
A farm truck that sits on a back field most of the year can be collected right where it is. Send us the gate or field address, the VIN, and a photo of the title so the name on it matches the seller.
Where the diesel rules stand for Kitsap Lake owners
According to the Washington Department of Ecology’s published guidance, the Advanced Clean Trucks rule, as adopted in Washington’s Clean Vehicles Program, has its enforcement paused. The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus under WAC 173-423-081 is on the same footing in that Department of Ecology guidance, with enforcement paused.
Kitsap Lake owners should note one item is in force: the Update to regulatory guidance for Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks, and Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus rules. Selling a diesel truck to us needs no emissions paperwork beyond the title and registration.
